If you have followed any franchise..
From Star Wars to James Bond..
You see how rabid so called fans, comic nerds, etc. get when certain actors are pitched as the leading role..
Donald Glover was a prime example when they were pitching him to be Spidey..
And I’m not talking Miles
Hell..
The way they bullied that Asian chick off twitter and Instagram from Star Wars
You can read reactions all over the web and even YouTube..
I know YouTube comments shouldn’t be used as a metric because of the percentage of trolls but a lot of those comments are real..
A lot of people feel Brie is too “SJW” and speaks out too much on injustices..
There was a video of her speaking out..
Granted I was a critic of her just for the simple fact she was saying shyt white people already know but just don’t care about..

You can look at her old posts to see the comments..
So a lot of this stems from the choice they chose and a lot of these comic fans be on someshyt..
But try to shroud it in keeping with “canon and source material”
