there is nothing inherently wrong with a natural monopoly, and anyone breaking the law should be punished for doing so... at least thats how i figure justice should work.I'd say it's more than a theory.
American antitrust law basically acknowledges that the goal of every individual firm is monopoly...and monopolies themselves are not illegal if based on superior quality of goods and services. But still, if the EXPLICIT goal of every competitive firm is to monopolize, then the incentive to maintain that monopoly illegally is inherent in capitalism. That's just something we have to live with, seeing as how competition is still generally the best way to allocate resources.
