I wondered what made Idris drop out because I read an interview with him a while ago where he talked about the role and how he was going to have a hard time making Alex Cross not be a carbon copy of the Luther character but he was excited for the challenge.
Well turns out Elba didn't back out but was replaced.

Tyler Perry was a HORRIBLE choice for Alex Cross. The ONLY reason they picked him was so that all of his African American female fan base might be suckered into seeing it thinking its "Madea Goes To The Police Academy" or some shyt

The Madea movies, I then gave them a real chance without going into it with a bias, and I have to tell you. They are actually good movies...

Tyler Perry is actually the better choice for this role now that I think about it. Especially if its going to have multiple sequels. You know why I say this? Because Tyler Perry, outside of Madea, he always plays the more serious roles. This is perfect for him imo. But we have to see how it pans out.

Same was said about Jamie Foxx. shyt, even Will Smith was just a slapstick comedy guy. You could say Fresh Prince is c00ning then if you wanna call Tyler Perry a c00n (not talking to you BBall) Also, I was really into drama when I was growing up (acting) and if you ever been on a stage performing? You learn that people who don't fit into roles you'd think, more times than not excel at that role. The mere fact that you think they can't play the role is what will make the role stand out when the guy is actually doing a good job. Thats what this movie has going for it imo.

I'm not a fan of Perry's.

Even if you look past the reasons why many label him a c00n, the stuff he put out isnt that good. He only has 2 films that are actually good and all 3 of his shows are trash.

I swear to you guys I am not lying when I say this. My neighbor about 5 houses down from me is about the same height, has the exact same high pitched voice. And acts EXACTLY like Mr.Brown from the TV Show.
Only difference is how he dresses. But thats only because Mr.Brown on TV seems to have a little more bread, and is married.
His name is even Mr.Brown, shyts crazy yo. So the character he is portraying is probably based off of a real person. Madea too, I've come across plenty of Grandma's who have a Madea like swag in my lifetime.
