My man I know you not much a CInnaman fan, but the Cinnaman outboxed Cotto and made him look ridiculous trynna land that left hook. JUst like @krackdagawd said the jab was there. He should have used more movement and fought like Lara but hey Roach rejuvenated Cotto and gave him his best weapon at the age of 35, the left hook. Freddie Roach trainer of the year again. That was mostly Roach focus and body language. He did a crappy ass job and Canelo gameplan was beautiful. It's like they knew COtto was gonna go for the left hook and he got countered smoothly 7 outta 10 times at least.

I gave Cotto 3 rounds only 2, 8 and 9 and those are tossup rounds

Like I know he has parkinsons n shyt but I'm legit :mindblown: at how he keeps winning trainer of the year. I think there are a few posters in here that could have came up with a better gameplan for Cotto.

I was impressed with Canelo's defense last night but more so with his team. I made a gif in the fight thread of him hitting some jobber with the pull counter over n over from when he first went into training camp I think his team had that as his ace for Cotto's jab. There were times in the middle rounds where Cotto was tentative to even throw it because he was worried about the counter :wow: when do we ever see Cotto tentative to jab?

I know Yuzo was somewhere like :smugbiden:

Only a moron wouldn't have known cotto was going left hook all night. It was impressive how canelo quelled it. Don't all of roaches fighters have one gameplan really?

Breh time and time again he proves that he can't make any adjustments.

If his fighters aren't winning with plan A then :yeshrug: tough break nikka

Had a beautiful conversation with @LeVraiPapi last night. I wasn't too impressed with Canelo I think he won based off being the "bigger" fighter Cotto was hitting him with some flush shots and was obviously the busier fighter but he couldn't hurt Canelo. Canelo probably held back and didn't wanna knock Cotto out but it's not like to me he outbox Cotto he's just way stronger than Cotto and that obviously showed.
So you are basically gonna ignore the stellar head/upper body movement that Canelo displayed last night? He was slipping/picking tons of Cotto's punches and then countering with some nice shots. Cotto had better lateral movement but that was about the extent of his advantage over Canelo last night.

I'm gon say that Cotto couldn't hurt Canelo so he didn't have to much to worry about defensively. Canelo was landing power punches at will

We shoulda known cotto couldn't hurt him when canelo stood right in front of James Kirkland's onslaught then looked at him like:stopitslime:......cotto wasn't moving canelo at all.

Cotto worked the left hook all night. Or tried to. He had more success when he led off w the jab. But cinnamon beat that ass.

In Freddie's defense I don't think any game plan would have worked for Cotto. Canelo was the bigger and better fighter that night.
