He could've and probably should've done a media tour for this fight. I'd even venture to say RNS wanted him to, but he couldn't be bothered. But why does it matter to the boxing media? It's weird and it comes off as them just alienating the newcomer.

And I was told they plan on making a 6 to 8 million dollar profit this weekend.
Nah camel boy needs to do his job
It would have generated a lot more energy and hype around the fight
SeeMs like he's cool with just getting his money quietly

He's a promoter breh...since when has a promoter NOT actually physically been there during fight week or done any press/media/conferences/interviews promoting the fight. Especially for a PPV of this magnitude:ohhh:

I agree with them:wow:

Maybe, but Cotto is getting $15 million off top plus a percentage of the RNS PPV split. 6-8 million profit in the arena/tickets/merchandising doesn't sound like much at all when keeping that in mind:yeshrug:

Idk though:manny:
I agree about his presence being valuable. But the boxing media crying about it is still weird. His presence helps sell the fight, but what does it do for them, other than giving them a chance to ask Jay Z questions? It's self serving, and I'm ALWAYS leery of the sports media being indignant about things for their own benefit and no one else's.

And I have no idea what a good PPV profit # is or should be though. Aside from the Floyd/Pac/Cokeboy fights, who knows how much other PPVs actually clear.
