Daniel Gaele was a stationary target

since Canelo is a bigger man one would assume cotto would have the speed advantage, yet he looked woefully slow

I'm not downplaying Canelo's performance YALL ARE UP PLAYING, that's what I'm saying
no cotto opponent has ever made him look that slow

:wow:......I just wish canelo woulda finished cotto off, but still.....it was a masterful performance. something tells me we're getting bradley-canelo next.

i'm a bradley fan but hell no to this. the weight difference alone would be too much. canelo would be eating his punches like scooby snacks :sadcam:

canelo-ggg on cinco de mayo would be huge and makes a lot of sense for both fighters but i doubt it will happen that soon.

Came to give Nelo his props. Dude is maturing as a fighter. His movement was better, stamina was on point, was able to use those pull counter w/ the uppercut. Cotto made a really good fight though but just couldn't back Canelo up or earn his respect w/ his power let alone Canelo was a Light Heavyweight the night of the fight. Cotto was moving good, Boxing, using the jab and he took Canelo's best punches and didn't get hurt. Overall, Canelo earned my respect. I still don't think he beats GGG but it's by far not a wipe out if and whenever it happens. My only riff was the scorecards. Atrocious. In the end though, the right guy won. Salute to Canelo.

Now are people saying Canelo is afraid of GGG or what? Why all of this doubt about him fighting Golovin? Is their fear or do people think he just don't REALLY want to fight him?

I'm with Burt Clements...118-110 Canelo

It was a struggle to find more than one rd to give to Cotto...dominant & brilliant performance by the ginger...nikka was lookin' like a young, pale James Toney out there

His accuracy, timing, anticipation, defense, head & upper body movement was :wow:

Also noticed how he took away Cotto's left hook by not squaring up and staying at perfect distance to keep out of range of that hook...using his height & reach advantage well...and everytime Cotto overreached and tryed to lead with the hook or set up his hook using feints Canelo would make him pay with that counter-right and the occasional uppercut. And even when Canelo was in range, he did a good job slipping and keeping his right hand up to guard against that hook. It's the reason why it looked like Cotto was only landing pitty-pat shots that couldn't hurt Canelo...because Canelo took away his marquee punch...the left hook...it's where all Cotto's knockouts/knockdowns come from...he has average/below average power in his right hand.

Brilliant stuff by the young mexicac ...viva la raza

Personally, I don't think canelo is scared of ggg at all and he steps up to every challenge as well. I don't like getting into the politics of boxing cuz it's complex and can get messy but I think this falls on de la Hoya. Oscar can set it up but is probably just waiting for the right time or protecting his cash cow. I believe canelo wanted the trout and Lara fight even tho Oscar was against it:yeshrug:

Im thinking if not cinco de mayo then maybe September in a big arena like ATT stadium because lord knows that fight is gonna do huge numbers:banderas: hopefully it happens in a year or two.

Not news, but Canelo's team is posturing GGG to meet him at 155. I don't really value belts in boxing, but why fight for them just to force these ridiculous catchweights? Especially Canelo. He looked like he weighed 175 against Cotto.

Oscar don't want those problems... he's a bytchmade double talking cross dressing coke sniffing hoe

Canelo says one thing, but he ain't pressing for the fight either.

Golovkin on the outside looking in like "Why they don't want (to fight) me man?" :mjcry:

The WBC won't press Canelo either. They would've pressed Cotto had he won, but they've already publically stated they'd support Canelo not making an immediate match with interim champ GGG. Golovkin is better off focusing on the Lee/Sanders winner and building his brand... cause those PPV #'s were :scust:

Defeating Andre Ward would do a lot more for 97G brand than KO Lee/Sanders...

Dudes 33 years old wasting time fighting JAGs and chasing smaller dudes...
