Floyd has no reason to come out of retirement for Canelo or 97G...He's turning 40 soon and doesn't need the money nor does he need another fight for legacy...

I think Canelo has a much better chance at beating 97G than people are giving him right now...The only thing 97G has on Canelo is punching power because he's the naturally bigger man...From a stylistic standpoint this is a very good matchup for Canelo...Canelo's style is tailored for rough limited pressure fighters that come forward and we have seen far lesser skilled boxer punchers give 97G trouble...My only concern in this one is Canelo gassing late and taking unnecessary punches which could lead to a stoppage...

shookboyz don't want it with #CaneloCartel

Better watch that shyt talking cause they may get what you wish for...
Never said he was going to or needed to. I was actually responding to someone who quoted me but I forgot who it was

And I agree. After tonight I see Canelo having better defense and definitely better punching technique than anyone GGG has ever fought that's for sure. And after looking pretty good at 155 tonight, I could see him looking pretty good at or around that weight again.

Power will be the biggest issue or concern. Can Canelo handle/maneuver around that kind of power from a naturally bigger fighter.

And like I said, he definitely needs to work on his cardio almost immediately. He did better pacing himself in this fight but I've never seen a fight where he doesn't get gassed.

He reminds me of the kid that always had natural talent and skill in sports but had asthma or some shyt that prevented him from being great.

TYRONE GA!
Here's my point...

What use is there coming to defend Floyd every single time. He great. We get it. Now he's "retired".

Outside of them talking about a potential fight with Floyd, I don't recall them talking about him. They were too busy praising Canelo, but rightfully so. :yeshrug:

"This is a real boxing match" was one of the quotes I heard last night. I was like word? :beli:

And where I watched it had many clowns bringing up Floyd as well conveniently forgetting he both both of those cats.

I feel where you coming from, but there were absolutely some subliminals during the fight last night.

Then maybe you should have had a conversation with them about Floyd.:francis:

Floyd won't be appreciated for a very long time, he is arguably the greatest defensive boxer of all time.

It's not fun to watch, but effective. He beat both of these cats that fought last night rather easily

I thought Cotto would be able to use his foot work and movement to win this fight. It turned out that was the only thing that kept him from getting buried.

And Canelo got one of the coldest demeanor I've ever seen.

Again...styles make fights:ufdup:

Unless you wanna talk about how Austin Trout beat Cotto much easier than Floyd could & Devon Alexander beat Maidana much easier than Floyd could:ufdup:

Bottomline, :camby: randomly bringing up Floyd and a fight from over 2 years ago in a celebration thread for #CaneloCartel over Cotto from yesterday:birdman:

Floyd stans always get in their feelings when they see another fighter getting props, so they randomly bring this nikka up for no reason:snoop:
Floyd did better than trout.

FLOYD LANDED 53 MORE POWER PUNCHES

when cotto would run in to try to steal a combo canelo would take a step back taking away the combo and taking away the step around. step arounds only work on a guy that is stationary. everything roach does in training with guys is step around. i think roach and cotto were counting on canelo being a lot more stationary and he wasnt. when cotto would run in to try to steal a combo and canelo would take a step back cotto would get hung out to dry because there was nothing there to throw a combo at and nothing there to step around. there needed to be an adjustment from roach and cotto right away there and there wasnt.

i think there were a lot of dead gaps of prolonged inactivity in this fight that cotto had to try to fill in but wouldnt because he was too tentative to jab more. he got it countered a few times and i think he really abandoned it. a lot of movement but not a lot of jabs. i think that really equalized a lot of rounds because canelo likes to wait and counter and you have to punish a guy that likes to wait and counter with your workrate and cotto had a workrate that was really just about even. because the workrate was a lot more equalized for a lot of rounds than it would have had to be for cotto to win it canelo was taking a lot of rounds because he was throwing bigger punches.

i dont think canelo looked great but i think cotto looked worse. i think cotto was going to get hit with some counters but he had to try to jab more. i think that was the only chance that cotto had to win this fight. he was leaning into uppercuts but i think that never really getting a jab going is what really killed cotto. gave away a lot of rounds.

canelo vs golovkin would be a good fight. i think canelo has a great style for a guy like golovkin.

Yup. They aint slick. Cacs don't get the benefit of the doubt.....they don't do it for us. :birdman:

Dawg... Boxing announcers say that shyt all the time esepcially during a fight where they're going blow for blow. I wouldn't be surprised if it was said during Miurga/Vargas fight.
