I think it was the fact that marquez fought at the lower weight classes, but also canelo is just unique in that he's a good looking(no homo) white red headed mexican who actually embraces the mexican fighting style. he's just a fascinating figure to many people. you combine his image, fighting style, and talent.....he was just destined to be a star

Canelo's dodge-game was

Cotto's combinations and speed were flawless aswell.

I thought it was a lot closer than the judges' scores would have you think, Canelo looked untouched at the end but he took some hard punishment to the body.
I even thought Canelo was gassed by the 6th round, tho he had a second wind by the end of the round.

I don't think much of canelo.

I picked cotto to win because i thought he had enough power to gain his respect, and out box him. I was wrong tho.

but at the same time facts are facts. Canelo was 22 years old and he struggled to make weight. He was not ready for that fight at all.

its too bad we never got to see mayweather vs margario in 2006, or cotto vs mayweather in 2007 or him vs paul wiliiams.

Canelo was a 7 year pro when they fought. And i didnt see any weight drained effects in that fight. (i'll rewatch). Canelo is a boxer-puncher.He likes to box and break people down. He boxed the master and caught that work

Mayweather vs Paul Williams would have been VERY INTERESTING.

Floyd by unanimous ass kicking. Paul is tall,long and active. But there's a very wide skill gap and floyd would have exposed this fact

To b honest, canelo showed nothing in this fight that shows he can beat even an 38 year old mayweather
If cotto had power in his punches or some better counter punches abilities to make canelo hesistant, then he could of won

I dont think he beats mayweather but he out powered and OUT SKILLED COTTO. Canelo is a great boxer and quite comfortably handled cotto's skills
