What do y'all think about Bread's predictions of Canelo vs. potential opponents?

Sometimes the sum of tough fights take more out of you than the fight itself but I would favor Canelo to beat every middleweight you named (Jacobs, Lemieux, Lee, Saunders, Eubank, Quillin). That’s not saying he beats them all consecutively but I think he beats them all on his best night.

Super Welterweight is where he has his problems. I would make Jrock and Andrade favorites to beat him. I would slightly favor Canelo over Lara and Charlo 1 and 2 55/45. And Michel Soro and Canelo is a 50/50 fight. Soro is nothing to play with.

Canelo vs Spence could be a super fight but they are too far apart in weight at this moment. Let’s see how the next year plays out.

Liam Smith is live in this fight but I think he is too limited in god given abilities to defeat Canelo. Smith will try hard and make a fight out of it but Canelo is just too talented for him.

I say Canelo wins 117-111.

Agree on most parts
154 is much stronger than 160 now.

I wouldn't pick Williams against Caelo just yet though.., J. Rock is a huge talent imo but as of right now I wouldn't bet o him against Canelo

Andrade v Canelo... Now that's a really good question...

Interesting that he gives Soro 50% against him. Soro is good but is he THAT good? I have to check him again

Fernando Vargas is Disappointed by Mindset of Today's Boxers

By Steve Kim

Gabe Rosado fights this weekend at AT&T Stadium near Dallas, Texas against Willie Monroe. But the fight Rosado and his trainer, Fernando Vargas, wanted was against WBO middleweight titlist, Billy Joe Saunders.

Rosado-Monroe will be part of Saturday's HBO Pay-Per-View - where Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will challenge WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith.

"Yeah, we wanted this fight bad but this is still a good fight for us," said the former world champion-turned-trainer ."We're going to look great in this fight. We had an awesome camp I just feel that it's going to be a defining moment for Gabriel."

Vargas and his fighter were under the impression that a deal to face Saunders (with the winner to face Canelo in December) had been consummated.

"It was our understanding that he had agreed to it and we were in camp for two months already and it didn't work out. We're still going to fight a southpaw and we're still going to look great Saturday."

There is a chance that the winner of Rosado-Monroe could face 'Canelo' in the the near future.

The mindset of today's boxers is a far cry from that of Vargas, who was never afraid to take on the game's best at an early age from the likes of Ike Quartery, Winky Wright and Oscar De La Hoya. It leaves 'el Feroz' dismayed.

One example, explained by Vargas, is Canelo challenging Gennady Golovkin back in May and then vacating his WBC middleweight belt.

"Y'know, just like I think about Canelo - not taking anything away from him.... he's a great fighter - but you're calling out somebody and saying you'll put on the gloves right now, it's like me calling out (Felix) Trinidad and I said he's a great champion and I want to unify the titles with him and I just give up my belt. I don't know...it's a different mindset," Vargas said.

Smith: Alvarez 'massively ducked' Golovkin

Liam Smith: Canelo Alvarez massively ducked fight with Gennady Golovkin
Liam Smith says he only landed the biggest pay day of his career because Saturday's opponent Canelo Alvarez ducked a fight with Gennady Golovkin.

Alvarez relinquished the WBC middleweight title rather than face Golovkin in a world title unification fight that had initially been planned to take place this Saturday.

The Mexican then decided to drop down a division and challenge Smith for his WBO light-middleweight title which takes place at the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Texas on Saturday.

Golovkin instead defended his IBF and WBC middleweight belts with a fifth round win over Kell Brook last Saturday, with Daniel Jacobs and Billy Joe Saunders now being talked about as his future opponents.

"I definitely think Canelo ducked a fight with Golovkin," Smith told ESPN. "Rightly so, because Canelo isn't big enough. He went the totally wrong way about it, calling for the fight against Golovkin and then giving up the belt.

"He told the fans he wouldn't give up titles. He's just not big enough to fight him. He will be under pressure in this fight to put on a performance and that's because he has lost the respect of his people for giving up the title.

"He's ducked Golovkin massively. There's massive pressure from the fans because he wants to keep them on board and he will want to make a statement after what has happened."

Confident Smith is already talking about there being a rematch with Canelo, who he says he can outbox.

"It's not the biggest fight of his career now, but when he loses it will be and his team will do everything possible to get the rematch," Smith said.

"Looking back at his last fight, I think Canelo's attitude was thinking that he was going to grab the knock out sooner or later, and he wasn't willing to box. I won't let that be the case this fight because I've got the ability to out box him, and put him in his place."

This guy should just stfu to be honest...

He should be happy with his payday but he constantly bytching about Canelo not fighting Golovkin.

Why the fukk he accepted to fight Canelo if he wants to see him against GGG so much?
Seriously this guy should stop complaining cause it really doesn't look good that he is the one who disses Canelo.

Who the fukk did this guy fight anyways to share gospel from a moral high ground? Where are the Laras or Trouts on his resume, the high risk low reward top opponents? :camby:
Why didn't he fight Andrade or J. Rock or Lara if he is that tough of a sob... ? I'm sure all those fighters would took a fight against him even in his backyard.

When protected domestic level hypejobs whining about Canelo's mentality. smh... :scust:

I hope this grey haired clown gets knocked out on Saturday. :shaq2:

Gabe Rosado: Besides Winning I Wanna Punish Willie Monroe!

By Ryan Burton

There certainly isn't any love lost between Gabriel Rosado (23-9) and Willie Monroe Jr. (20-2). The two fighters exchanged words on their August 29th media conference call to promote their September 17th fight.

The fight will serve as the co-featured bout of the evening underneath the Canelo Alvarez-Liam Smith WBO welterweight championship fight in the main event. The card will be distributed by HBO pay-per-view.

The 30-year-old Rosado felt that Monroe lost touch with reality with some of his comments on the conference call and that he thinks he's a bigger deal than he really is. He made a point to say that WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders would at least entertain a fight with Gabriel Rosado while the champion wouldn't even entertain the idea of a fight against Saunders.

rosado-monroe%20%285%29_1.jpg

"It is a fight where I am focused. I know what is on the line. I am ready. I just kinda got upset with Willie because of how he was talking. He was talking like with Billy Joe Saunders he at least talked contract with us where they wanted no parts of Willie so I just told him that I thought he was just hyping himself and he's nothing special. That is just how I feel," Rosado stated.

Rosado epitomizes the definition of a blood and guts warrior. After the exchange of words, Rosado wants nothing more than to destroy Monroe.

In this particular case a win alone won't satisfy Rosado.

"I really don't go into a fight disliking my opponent personally. It's not anything like a hate thing but I really don't like Willie. I really don't. Like I want to hurt him. It's a fight where I want to win but I really want to hurt this guy. I want to punish him," Rosado told BoxingScene.com.

at one point i would have believe rosado would do work but willie is going to show up and show out if his mind is right....and if it is its going to be super ugly for rosado
