Yep.

His last 10 fights dating back to 2011: Matthew Hatton, Ryan Rhodes, Kermit Citron, Shane Mosley, Josesito Lopez (supposed to have been Paul Williams:to:), Austin Trout, Floyd Mayweather, Alfredo Angulo, Erislandy Lara, and James Kirkland....and he's only 24 years old:damn:
Lol I like your enthusiasm but alot of those fights were not exciting on paper and/or otherwise...half of the fights were struggles..you forgot the gomez fight in there which was some struggle shyt

It's not about the outcome of the fight. It's about the competition he was facing. He was only 20 in 2011 and is now 24. Nobody else currently in boxing has fought that type of competition at his young age. (20-24 years old).

We have 28-29 year olds still being spoon fed while Canelo is fighting all comers like a throwback

If james makes it past the first hard right it'll be a :blessed: night

Agreed, I personally think Kirkland's power is sort of underrated when people talk about current hard hitters in boxing. While he doesn't one punch guys he be having nikkas looking like :merchant::to::mjcry: when they start getting hit. So if Canelo can't hurt him big time early we in for a brutal night.

Real talk. And I don't really like Canelo all like that. Guess I'm still butthurt over the Lara decision. Gotta give credit where its due though. He's still overrated as all hell, and being a handsome ginger from Mexico provides a nice following. Regardless, he's got heart. Gotta respect that.

Kirkland is gonna get punished........he's too slow and his defense is too poor, he won't survive Canelo's early onslaught and take too much punishment.

...If by some miracle he does, he still gets outboxed. One thing for certain, this WILL be entertaining.

yeah but he would have been out of the ring for almost a year and a half by the time may comes around..i would have liked to see Kirkland in one fight in 2014 before this

True, but if you recall he was coming off a lay off before the Tapia fight. He was actually brought in to be the opponent for that fight. Tapia even had hometown advantage.

I doubt Kirkland will ever go back to taking tune ups. Dude just wasn't to get paid and those type of tune up fights cats want him to take don't pay as much as Canelo/Cotto bouts.
