The conservatives who he "doesnt support" hedged their bets on corporate tax cuts and the energy industry. Even when oil was at all time highs, the economy was still anaemic because there wasn't enough stimulus to translate that wealth across the nation. 10 years and not one quarter as good as this one.

Trudeau came out and said he would run a deficit and spend because Canadians were hurting and in a recession during the election while America was basically catching fire in 2015 economically (Thanks Obama). Now that the economy is growing obviously the haters are out in full swing. I'm not a supporter of the PM at all, I voted against him, but I give credit where it is due.
you DO realize that the growth right now is due to the Energy sector right??

Insult to injury, Alberta (where all the oil is, Canada's texas) elected the NDP (socialist party) in their elections during the oil price down swing.

Now after all the green regulations they passed etc, Alberta is the FASTEST growing economy again :laff:

Face it without racism to confuse the idiot cacs, right wingers have absolutely nothing in 2017.
stop trying to conflate american politics with Canadian politics

racism ?

man GTFOH.

The Canadian Contrarian ran into some real Canadians giving him that Ether.

:ohlawd:
:mjlol:

yea....I don't think so. Just another clown that gets easily sucked in by clickbait and BS.

"b-b-b-but the conservatives are too focused on the energy sector...." - Liberals when Harper was in.

"Oh wait, the Energy sector is the one responsible for this upswing?? Trudeau is the man!!!" - Liberals now.

:camby:

Not to mention the wildfires that devastated oil production in May of last year, which made this upswing look better than what it really is....and don't take my word on it...there are many economists saying the same thing
Canada's economic growth blows past expectations

Compared with a year ago, the economy soared 4.6 per cent, noted Bank of Montreal chief economist Doug Porter.

"While that very impressive headline comes with a caveat -- last May was depressed by the Alberta wildfires -- even excluding that factor leaves the underlying growth trend well above three per cent," Porter wrote in a note to clients.

He said the latest report puts Canada on track for roughly three per cent GDP growth this year, more than a percentage point above where consensus expectations were just six months ago.

"While the blow-out headline advance no doubt exaggerates the underlying strength in growth, the fact is that every single major surprise for the economy this year has been to the upside," Porter said.

Economic Growth - Economy Provincial Rankings - How Canada Performs

funny how you like to pick and choose huh.

Alberta has an NDP leader and they are doing great!!

Let's just face it, most of these changes are happening IN SPITE OF, not BECAUSE of, the politicians in power.

Also,

Oil will help Alberta’s economy lead Canada in 2017. But that won’t translate into more jobs

Generally rosy economic landscape hides a mixed picture for jobs and wages

Though most provincial economies are expected to chug along nicely this year, jobs and wage growth prospects for Canadians across the country are more mixed.

Alberta’s chart-topping performance, for example, isn’t expected to produce many jobs. The strong rate of growth reflects a rebound from “rock bottom,” according to the report, and a temporary boost from reconstruction efforts in Fort McMurray. It will take time for healthier business activity to translate into jobs and higher consumer spending.

Yay, so Alberta is ranking in the Oil money again.....but where are all the jobs?? GDP!!!!!! GDP!!!!!

but no jobs...... Typical grandstanding bullshyt.
