Yes they TALK about without a real actual plan....
The binary of this past election cycle (for America and Canada) seems like it was a choice between:
"We see the problem and we'll address it by (insert something that won't help and probably will make things much worse)"
vs
"What problem? It's all good guys..."

And people who aren't into the political stuff look at that and go, "I'm not happy, and those guys say they can see I'm unhappy. So, I'll give them a try" without having/taking the time to see how the policy proposals might impact them. I was amazed at a story about people only realizing Obamacare and the ACA are the same thing AFTER they voted for Trump recently...I feel like we (people politically engaged enough to post on a politics forum) really underestimate how often people are totally checked out of politics outside of the passing headlines.

but conveniently they're checked in enough to know obamacare is bad because it has obama's name in it.

Unless a miracle happens, Trudeau and the Liberals are going to get destroyed next year. Canadian Conservatives suck, but they aren't nearly as bad as Republicans here in the US (in general).

I have some family that lives in Canada. I'm going to be spending more time in Canada over the next few years to get away from America and Trump.

I have family in Canada too

The cost of living in the GTA is crazy! One of my aunts owns a condo. My cousins are older than me and they’re all together there but they have no prospect of buying their own homes.

My mom has cousins who live in Brampton in houses they bought in like 2004.

Supply and demand. Looks to me they brought in too many people without infrastructure in place.
I'm not sure what their plan was.
I heard 4 million student visas are about to expire that might free things up for people trying to buy a house.
Got friends up there who complain about house prices all the time.

Yeah, I know that Toronto and Vancouver have a huge housing crisis. My uncle lives in Toronto. He's a Jamaican immigrant to Canada (my family is Jamaican). He rents a basement apartment.

I want to move to Canada, but the housing crisis is a major roadblock.

Foreign buyers are also a big problem.

I think the housing issues in Canada is by design. It's been like this for far too long for it to be organic. Someone somewhere is making a killing from those property prices
