Growing up I always thought I could tell if someone was just a black person who was just light skinned and if someone was biracial. For example Will Smith is light skinned but he does not look biracial whereas Drake looks straight up biracial. Lately I have been seeing white women with kids who do not even look biracial to me, they just look like light skinned black kids with two black parents.Me, my two brothers, my sister and both of our parents are what people would consider yellow bones and we have a lot of light skinned blacks on my mom's side of the family but most of them have two black parents.Growing up I used to get angry when people would ask me if I was mixed just because I was light skinned.I apologize if I got a little off topic but can you tell by looking at someone is Biracial or someone who just happens to be light skinned but both of their parents are black.

I hear you. I'm the same way.

You do know most light skinned Americans got that way because of white genetics. Does it matter if the white genetics is from an immediate parent or three generations ago?

Steph Curry might have two "black parents" but he is most definitely mixed. Stephen Curry's daughter will claim black when it's convenient but genetically she is most likely not even 50% black.

The one drop rule needs to go, plus it's confusing the heck out of people.

Yes it matters. Having a direct cracker parent is totally different than having some alleged cracker great great great
grand parent that nobody even knows

Also how do y'all know the genetic makeup of every single African American

As for the op most times I can tell the difference between a light skin black person and a half breed. It's usually all in the features....and corny awkward personality :scheme:

Some people are obviously biracial : Thandie Newton, Rashida Jones, Jesse Williams
Some are obviously light skinned Blacks: Tisha Campbell, TI, Beyonce
Then you got overlap: Vanessa Williams, Steph Curry, Alfred Enoch, Kid Cudi, etc

Well light skins did originate from race mixing
U can usually tell if someone is immediately mixed (one black one other parent) by the hair
By thats not foolproof either
One of my nephews looks like he's mixed while the other looks just light skin

There are exceptions

But most of the time a light skin black person retain majority black feature.

A biracle person will have more in between features..._example: they don't have a skinny or a wide nose, they have Lips but there not really full.

Alot of biracle have signature curly hair, sometimes wavy, their are biracials our there who have what is called "black hair" and their are black people who have "curly hair" however most of the time biracle have the curly hair.

Alot of biracles have colored eyes.
But in my own experience black people can and do have colored eyes without being biracial.

Biracials usually are not as shapely as lightskin blacks and darkskin blacks however surgical enhancements have made this more difficult to point out.

But in high school you can tell by body shape, there is really no difference in bodytype from darkskin to lightskin black women but biracle black women are usually a step behind in shape department

More often than not, I can. If someone speaks with a black (African American) accent I'd assume the person is just "light skint."

Immediately mixed people tend to have a pale whiter color to their skin while "light skin black people " tend to be more of a yellowish color
