Besides the few rivarly games sec teams rarely play anyone of merit outside their conference.

They beat up on each other to make them look better than they are as well as weak sun belt teams.

Once in a while they will play someone else ala TCU, Wisconsin, Michigan, west Virginia, Oklahoma state and squeak out or edge out a win. Usually this is early in the season when teams are still rusty and the sec coaches have Months and months to plan yet they stjkk just squeak out a win.

They wouldn't dare do a Michigan state Oregon week 2 :sas1:

Sec teams look so great because every year they are ranked high, remember when miss state was ranked like number ten even though they beat no one of merit just crummy sec teams, then bama blew them out.

Sec is like that boxer that's 24-0 but just beat bums.

Only now with the new bowl system sec teams are scheduling tougher opponents.

Its amazing how Mizzou and Texas a&m just walk in and start dominating.

That those horrible garbage spread offenses are lighting it up.

LSU couldn't even stop the run yesterday, bama can't stop spread offenses even with a while summer of working on it.

and yet we have 8 of the last 9 national titles. regularly blowing out the best of the other conferences in the title games.

no ne said EVERY sec team is good. we just have the best teams and we put the most players into the nfl each draft.

keep catchin feelins over the dominance of the SEC

I'm simply responding to OP and any other fan's assertion that SEC is "average" or "weak" or no better than any other conference. The fact that year in, year out, the conference produces 1-2 top tier teams, when most other conferences can't even consistently produce ONE speaks volumes.

Never said it was a perfect system, never said SEC is the king, never said I puff out my chest and act like it's some awesome accomplishment that the rest of my conference is consistently winning (I'm a Florida alum).

But 06 Florida, 07 LSU, 08 Florida, 09 Alabama, 10 Auburn, 11 Alabama, 12 Alabama and 13 Auburn (sort of) is a lot to ignore and simply say some dumb shyt like "can we talk about the average SEC."

It reminds me of that period from 1999 - 2013 when the only teams from the Western Conference to reach the NBA Finals were the Lakers, Spurs, and Mavericks.
You said 2013 Auburn (sort of) but then say 07 LSU straight faced

Damn the SEC really under yall skin for real. Thats when you know you on top. Any time an SEC team struggles we get this thread.

this. ucla who everyone has proclaimed will win the PAC12 struggled against a terrible ACC team. no thread. FSU reigning national champs that were blowing everyone out last year by 50 barely win against Ok State. no thread. however, when one SEC doesn't blow the doors off an opponent, multiple threads about the conference being overrated.

its good to be king.

They're the only one. The reason why people hate this "SEC SEC: shyt is that a lot of times they play mid-tier conference teams and get hyped because of it. But more importantly, what the SEC has had is a span where for 8 years they have produced 1 or 2 teams that are the best in the country but the rest of the conference is overrated because of it. You have people talking "SEC pride" as if a Vandy student should ever dare talk shyt to a Michigan student about sports.

It's just strange to be yelling conference pride in a competitive sport. Conference pride in academics--certainly, and for competition--sure, but to the extent that where you consider someone else's victories yours.........:what:

Bum ass squads like Kentucky get ranked top 10 occasionally. It's just unfortunately the rise of Florida, Auburn, LSU and Bama (who are the only SEC schools that do shyt) coincided with the fall off of other traditional powers to the point where bums like Ole' Miss are feeling brolic.

:mjlol:

since the BCS was instituted 1998, we've had 5 different SEC schools win the title (Tennessee, LSU 2x, Florida 2x, Alabama 3x, and Auburn). compare that to the Pac 10 who had only 1 champion (USC in 2004). the Big10 with only 1 champion (Ohio State in 2002). the ACC and Big 12 with two different champions (Florida State/Miami and Texas/Oklahoma).

if the SEC is just living off the glory of its top teams, what does that make every other conference?

just face the facts breh. SEC is simply the best football conference. we won 9 of the 16 BCS titles. no other conference with more than 2. that my friend is DOMINANCE. and it was more than just 2 teams. hell Georgia coulda played in a couple of title games if they weren't in the SEC. they usually gave the eventual SEC and national champ a tougher game than the team the SEC champ played in the national title game.

Auburn lost last year. Idiot. LSU won their National Championship game. As in they outscored their opponents. As in they got rings. As in they were crowned champions.

8 of 9 titles, by 4 different teams no less.

I'll wait while you name another conference that did that
