Can we talk about how it seems that Warner Bros. has no faith in doing a true "Man of Steel" sequel?

:stopitslime: I just saw a thread about how Emily Blunt is being casted as Catwoman on the upcoming MoS sequel. This got me thinking, we went from WB announcing a true MoS sequel before MoS even came out to a Batman vs. Superman movie. Now it doesn't even seem like it will be a true Batman vs. Superman movie. It looks like it just gonna be a setup for a JL movie.

:snoop: This movie about to be "Iron Man 2" status, at best. I think Warner Bros. is shook because of the ridiculous, undeserved negative reviews that MoS got.

:yeshrug:I agree breh, They should have just ignored the critics and stuck with the MoS vibe, story, format. People hated on Batman Begins then Dark Knight 2-3 came out and it made the first one make a lot more sense and gave us a new appreciation for it.

It isn't about lacking faith in a Man of Steel sequel, its about WB wanting to fast track the Justice League and do some cinematic world building so they can start making money off of more than just Batman and Superman.
Once they get that done they will make more Superman movies and Batman movies with Affleck and a movie for that skinny broad as Wonder Woman. and so one and so forth with other JL members.

The story can go either way 50-50 but we know the visuals and action scenes will most likely be that piff. :banderas: Now that Snyder and his normal cinematographer Larry Fong is back behind the lens.

Would prefer having a real MOS sequel that maybe hints at Batman or other members near the end. Then either do a Batman solo movie or have the teamup as the 3rd MOS movie. I understand that $$$ rules though :yeshrug:

DC saw Avengers and was like :whoa: we want our billion dollars too friends

And the story was re-written by Affleck's writing partner.

Cinematically Superman doesn't work.

The general population think he's a cornball hero.

Similar situation happened when Disney first bought Marvel they wanted to go full fledged with The Avengers movie. They didn't think they should waste time with the separate origins movies for Thor & Cap luckily Marvel convinced Disney this was the best way to get the general audience to know about their characters.

:ufdup:If Superman didn't work cinematically then we wouldn't even have a superhero genre in the first place because it was the success of the first Superman movie that set the bar for everything that followed. 35 years and the movie later and it's still a classic.

:ufdup:And if people don't like Superman then explain why MOS had the highest grossing opening weekend ever in the history of June.

whats interesting is that, if that earlier report/thread is true about marvel c-blocking fox but having a good working relationship with sony to the point where they may co-produce an Avengers 3 with Spiderman on the team... then I wouldn't be surprised if fox says fukk it and, assuming a good ROI on the upcoming fantastic four movie, decide to explore a F4/X-Men crossover flick 3-4 years from now.

The trend/direction now in these superhero films clearly seems to be team-ups and gang-ups, throwing as many faces in their without creating a cluster fukk; whether it be the avengers, or what they're tryna do with the sinister 6, or the x-men in general. DC sees this and probably figures that they don't got the same problem as marvel when it comes to multiple property owners, have just as many well known characters, yet they aint eating off anyone else but the same 2 characters. so yea, i def feel they got a "fuk this! we bout to jump in this bytch!" vibe to them.

Avengers 3 w/ Spiderman. X-Men/F4 crossover. If any of these things happen or even if they dont and its just the ensemble cast of characters that Avengers and X-Men can bring in on their own, DC doesn't want to be on sidelines when all that is going down.

i really enjoyed mos so I'm not too happy bout this shyt happening cuz it seems so damn rushed

a true sequel with some hints or him briefly showing up is fine for mos sequel but not this

when this drop i'll just keep my expectations real low so if it aint that good it wont matter but if it turns out really good then it will exceed it instead so well just wait and see
