Can we talk about how crazy the production was on Mobb Deep's Amerikaz Nightmare?

Alchemist and Havoc killed the production. It sounded so cohesive. I remember I had an advanced copy and some of the songs were slightly censored with dope sound effects like swords and shyt lol.

Also that Kanye production is vintage as it gets. Violin and everything at the end.
Which song did Kanye produce? Didn’t know that he did music for Mobb.

Yeah it was horrendous. The signs were there on infamy, so no one to blame but ourselves though

Crazy to think how many albums we used to actually spend good money on that would turn out to be bad. Just used to blind buy shyt. When you bought an album that was fire though it was an occasion

Even stranger is we’re discussing this album in a thread where posters are fondly recalling it as a dope album Lolololol.

Only beats fukking with this are Win Or Lose and Throw Your Hands

:mjcry:
Album is so underrated. I play it from time to time just to hear the first track though, straight:demonic:

Nah that album had some joints on there. I understand the anti lil jon sentiment, it was certainly a shift from the mobb stamp no doubt. Got it Twisted, Win or Lose, When you hear that, they all fire.

Alchemist killed this album but this was Prodigy at his worst, he had maybe one of two good verses. Some of Havs weaker production too, he had more heaters on Infamy/Blood Money.

It was a good album, maybe 3.5 mics. Prodigy did sound better on here than he did on Infamy but he still had all the weakest verses. Odd, enough this was when I became a Mobb Deep fan

I always thought Real Gangstaz should had been a bigger hit though....That joint was hard. I don't care what anyone says

With a better chorus this should've been a hit

I still put this album over blood money and infamy.
Same here. It’s their best album post Murda Muzik not counting the Free Agents Mixtape.

edit: the last album they dropped that’s out of print and not on DSPs after they broke up and reunited is actually really dope too.

i'll take The Infamous Mobb Deep album over Blood Money and Amerikaz Nightmare. It was very cohesive and i feel like they really had their chemistry back as far as Prodigy really killing tracks. Also the Black Cocaine EP was crazy as well. Mobb was on a wild run toward the end in my opinion. it just wasnt publicized or people took it for granted and now P is gone :sadbron:

It's a personal classic and maybe my third favorite Mobb album. The production is great and Havoc blacked tf out (his flow on On The Run:wow:). Only 'Get Me' is kinda weak, but it's nice to hear Big Noyd on here.

Prodigy had some garbage bars and lazy flows though, but I still love them man.

'You being manslaughtered, right in front of my kids, a little blood get on my daughter, it's nothing, she'll live'
'I need a bytch like Christina Aguiler-y for a broad, I know I can splack that, she dyin for a thug'
'Now look at you now, look like sandwich meat with the ketchup sauce'

Glad I found the vinyl for a decent price.
