Can we talk about how crazy the production was on Mobb Deep's Amerikaz Nightmare?

Went to jail for the first time the week this dropped, was out within 5 days, (charges dropped) and back to playing it. When I was 18, wild summer, clubbing in Tijuana all night, and stumbling across the border to knock a few grams out the next afternoon, and do it all again. "Got It Twisted" was the anthem when we were really rolling up to parties, like 15 deep in three cars, ready to get into it. The intro was my favorite, that beat was so grim and haunting. I even remember hearing the "Got It Twisted" remix on the jail bus radio.

I want to say I remember hearing Got It Twisted and Real Gangstas in a club in TJ at like 4:00 AM, the whole club wilding.

Bought it and hated it. Realised the mobb that i knew growing up was no more. As soon as win or lose came on and they didnt rip it, i was a distraught young breh. I should have known how it would go though, having bought every album of theirs up till then

I should go back to it now im less biased and emotional about it

Hearing P spitting over pac beats sounds weird on West coast mobb deep but this mixtape is pretty dope. Can't believe I never heard it. I never knew it was official I guess.

Prodigy fall off was pretty bad on this. Production was good but that couldn’t save it to me

This..to me this was the last true Mobb Deep album and the last real gasps of what made Prodigy great before he descended into non rhyming hell

Win or Lose was my joint on there :wow:..i am surprised this wasn't a single

Same here. That said I went back to it a few months ago and it sounds better now that there are zero expectations. The Lil Jim shyt is still disgraceful.

Yeah it was horrendous. The signs were there on infamy, so no one to blame but ourselves though

Crazy to think how many albums we used to actually spend good money on that would turn out to be bad. Just used to blind buy shyt. When you bought an album that was fire though it was an occasion
