I like Brock but no wrestler is worth that contract anymore besides the Rock. No wrestler on this roster is a draw.

if you’re asking about his contract details monetarily, well it should matter zero to us fans since we aren’t signing his checks.

If you are asking about the merits of his schedule: I think it’s pretty simple. The dude is a commodity. When he shows up, the crowd pops. The reaction he gets is strong in any arena. He’s worth having around in that regard purely as a spectacle.

But the question “what has Brock done to deserve this type of contract” lacks the rationale that the person asking (you) isn’t the one who decides what is earned. That’s not a diss either :whoa: but clearly his boss feels that he is worth whatever investment he’s making.

But being honest no other athlete in the WWE has been the UFC heavyweight champion, was on an NFL roster at one time, and commands the attention that. Brock does. Some people walk into a room and people innately pay attention, Brock is one of those people :manny:

But he’s not drawing UFC fans to WWE. Even if he brought WWE fans to UFC (a decade ago), that’s not really relevant now. Ronda Rousey is definitely a bigger celebrity than Brock Lesnar and she’s not really bringing in the MMA fanbase neither. They’re really miscalculated the UFC cross over. Even if it did exist a decade ago. I don’t care about the money Vince pays him but him having the title for nearly two years consecutively and then fukking off to Saskatchewan handicaps the tv show and makes the belt means much less through it’s absence. Did they mention the words ‘Universal Title’ or ‘Brock Lesnar’ on Monday? Out of sight, out of mind.

they could/should have built lashley up to be a legit contender to him. but people like Lashley are there to be entertainers, not competitors.

Sounds like he literally was just signed to put Roman over. Sacrificing tens of guys for Roman/Brock/Cena looks really bad when they’re now gone.

All of this,

Yall dont understand that he is a once in a lifetime or should I say a special type of talent. He looks the way Vince wants his top guys to look, whether you think he is average or great at ufc he was a draw there and a champion, and to this day is a big deal when he goes back and will get a top fighter. He tell a great story in the ring and all these things matter more than ratings or house shows, wwe doesnt give a fukk about house shows in 2018

The answer is pretty straightforward.

Now, more than ever Vince and Stephanie have aspirations to be more than wrestling promoters.

From their viewpoint, Brock Lesnar is the single most culturally relevant person they can employ, since he's a former UFC heavyweight champion.

The problem is that Lesnar's MMA star power and cultural relevancy peaked in 2010. UFC's cultural relevancy has taken a nosedive as well, so the crossover really just isn't going to happen the way they want it too.

At the most basic level, Brock Lesnar is Vince chasing after that Tyson/Austin moment again, without realizing that that was truly a unique moment in time, and was only as big as it was because deep down, everyone knew a match was never happening. They were just there for the fukkery.

Can anyone honestly tell me what Brock brings to the table and why he deserves this ridiculous contract. To this day I still don’t understand.

Ratings- Worse than they have ever been. Even when he does show up, the difference isn’t much.

PPV Buys- He doesn’t make any difference to PPV buys due to the network.

Attendance- It’s down significantly, but most Raw and especially PPV’s are always or close to sellouts. Obviously he doesn’t do house shows.

Matches- Couple of great matches in the past 3-5 years, but for the most part all have the same formula and are pretty shytty.

Legitimacy- Now someone mentioned, Brock brings legitimacy to his reign. I can see that, but let’s be honest, all legit UFC fans know Brock is a mediocre fighter. It’s only the WWE that presents him as someone who was dominant in UFC when we all know he wasn’t.

So again I ask, what has Brock done to deserve this type of contract?

He shouldn’t be champ... I’m not opposed to him being on the roster but him being a part time champion is an absolute joke.

I even think calling him part time is generous at this point

Still waiting on an answer... after two years. :francis:
They’ve made a point to make him uninteresting and to paint him as a guy who hates the whole industry and doesn’t want to be there in hopes of getting the crowd behind Roman for years. In the process they’ve made sure nobody at all is a draw. I find it hard to find fault with most wrestlers when you consider that if they booked 20 years ago the way they do now, guys like test and the mean street posse would have been headlining over the rock, Steve Austin, Jericho, mick Foley, and countless others.
