To the OP, it's more about knowing what you can and can't wear or pull off. Experiment and try to bridge gaps between your old style and the new one you're looking to cultivate. When you see a look on the internet that you like, save it for inspiration. Or search around and buy it.

This for example works in a variety of situations from going out to working in an office or just walking around. The office part I wouldn't know about though because I've never worked in one but it seems appropriate. Never understood ascots or scarves but if you can pull it off.

dont wear them long ass peacoats below your knees especially if u skinny :scust:
Don't take this post seriously. Most of these posters have little to no style. Trust me when I say I'm probably one of the most qualified posters when it comes to menswear advice. I've seen some posters and they label jock and trend jock.

If you want to look good all the time no matter the setting i'm your guy. I don't do flashy I do classy. For example how many people know when it's appropriate to wear a white suit or bow tie? I'll wait.

Follow up question, how many of ya'll can actually tie a bow tie? I'll wait.

If you own monk strap shoes, you are not on my level. If you own clubmasters' and John Lennon esque sun glasses you are confused, and we are not on the same level.

I go for classic style, not vintage or retro, classic. I was a PS for BCBG. No lie people would fly across the country to be fitted at my store and then they'd tell me what they wanted and I'd find it.

I don't see a thing wrong with what he's wearing though. In fact, I'm bout to steal that look. shyt is understated as hell and then you get that pop of color when you hit his feet. That's like classic fashion advice. And I'd say it's age appropriate.
It's a little too fashion forward for most 70 year olds now but who knows how things will change in the distant future ...

I think that fashion forward thing might be negated by who he is though. Like, if Chad's grandpa is running out to Home Depot wearing that exact thing then it's a bit too much but the overall look is alright.

I'd like to hear some more of this type of post. What is a classic style exactly in your opinion?

GQ has a style guide.
Check out StreetEtiquette, A Noble Savage, and Art Comes First as well.
You should be set.
Clothes that fit and aren't too ostentatious/loud.
Don't wear True Religion jeans.
Wear timeless clothes.
