25,000 is a large number of students, which means they have a large number of alums.

Oh...yea I think 23k is their student enrollment. Guy I use to work with in KC graduated from there and damn near his entire family and his wife's fam graduated from there as well. I've even seen a few reppin NIU in the halls of my job

Yeah, we Mobb Deep like we're Wu-tang -- nothing small about NIU (I have problems navigating around campus).

As far as this thread is concerned, it literally took a perfect storm for this to happen; Nebraska got destroyed on the Big Ten's grandest stage, and the Big East is putrid this year. I'm all for non-BCS schools shaking things up instead of seeing the same damn teams year in and year out and I say that regardless if it's NIU or any other non BCS team because this is rarefied air.

If you're going to have an axe to grind with anything or anyone, let it be with a garbage ass system that's proven time & time again to be an extremely flawed one, not a school who did what was asked of them.
