Can Roman Reigns be a mainstream star outside of WWE or is it too late?

He didn't luck out. Bautista is known as a humble, collected professional on movie sets and in an industry full of egos and drama queens that gives you a push easily. Dude played his cards right and it got him the right roles.
Nah..bring the right size for those parts helped tremendously. No one in Hollywood was liking or dying to have Batista on set..humble or not. That industry is greedy and fukked up..that humbl e shyt don't mean nothing..especially after all these super big name actresses post Weinstein are confessing they had to nearly whore it up to get a good break..trained legitimate actresses who look attractive like Kate Beckinsale. Batista was in the right spot at the right time....in particular, the Marvel movies.

I agree Rock was a pop culture phenomenon, there’s no doubt. When it came to acting though, there had NEVER been a wrestler who had made it and a fair share of the population thought he’d end up a b grade action star. It’s not a slight on The Rock at all, it’s just that nobody had kicked in the doors like he had before - there was no benchmark.

In that time period Vin Diesel was one of the hottest stars in the world and had made NUMEROUS hit movies. Rock was compared to him initially because Vin was the benchmark.

Rock is one of the biggest stars in the world now, but I bet if you asked him, he’d tell you himself that he started from the bottom in the acting world too.
The Rock is a icon..was a icon before All of this and he has repeatedly made note that he soaked up knowledge like a sponge...He is the most charismatic man in entertainment. This was always MEANT to be for him after the type of year he had in wrestling in 2000. No one was ever that big from wrestling. So it's no shocker a hit would come Rocky's way..he turned that into being a tireless worker who takes risks in his presentation(people damn worship him now by just being a symbol of motivation now including Charlotte Flair, Maryse, Billie Kay, Richoet)...Austin wanted to be a kick ass action star..Hogan wanted to take any part. That all was bad planning. It was limited. The SNL stuff showed u what Rock was willing to do. He has presence that equates to being a huge star upon entry in a room.

If being mainstream star is leaving WWE for movies years later then no he isnt yet and that seems to be the measure y'all have on him
That's the measure of anyone who has been pushed this hard with 3 str8 WM main events and the company sacrificing other acts to his benefit..hell, even retiring their most popular star "for his best interests" when they didn't give a fukk about that kind of shyt until Eddie Guerrero died at 38 in a hotel.

WM 32 was damn near a disgrace...That Triple threat women's title match easily should of main events the show because the rest of that shyt was mediocre. They even messed that up by having the blonde win that match.

Fast 4 did a 70 mil opening weekend, that's far from straight to DVD. You only think that because of Tokyo Drift, where Bow Wow was the biggest star in it.

And I saw the first Fast movie in theaters because a friend really wanted to see it. By the time it hit DVD all the kids I know had seen it at least once.

Crediting The Rock with drawing The Mummy Returns box office is a stretch. Anyway, my point is Vin Diesel was a draw for a few years, cooled down in the mid 2000s but got hot again when he went back to F&F.
I never even heard of Fast 4 until Fast 5 got their hook.

Vin Diesel did not have several hit movies by 2001. That furious stuff started that year. Rock was opening in Mummy Returns at over 70 million first week May 01. That was a month before Fast and the Furious.

I don’t mean to play devils advocate, but I specifically remember people saying Rock was a cheap Vin Diesel. All these years later and Vin isn’t even nearly in the same league as Rocky.

Not saying Roman is The Rock, but it’s happened before.

Who was sayin' that?

The Rock was a star before Vin Diesel was. Dude was hosting SNL, FFS

That makes no sense Rock was a pop culture icon before u ever heard of Vin Diesel..a ratings draw on almost every guest appearance he ever had...MTV, ESPN, UPN. He debuted in Hollywood getting paid 5 mili...Vin Diesl just lucked up with the Furious 5 stuff making real money. No one cared if he was alive or dead most of the 2000s.

Agreed.

Rock was a star when wrestling was at it's all-time peak in the late '90s/early '00s.

Wrestling was pop culture at that point.

We're far from that moment. That's why Roman probably won't make it like

But his cousin is the biggest star in Hollywood, so maybe Rock could hook him up, but that's his only shot
