the second one has a smaller 'slim case', twice the hardrive space, and arguably a better cpu. more or less worth $100 more I guess. although that slim case would probably be limited if you want to upgrade/add in the future

I think so. like I said the one drawback is that smaller case doesn't have room to put anything else in it, like a video card

Was just asking since the thread was already made. Obviously I would have had to do that regardless. Hypothetically speaking, if there are 3 similar, but not identical choices then what's the harm in asking if one has an edge over the other?

No harm, no foul.

Get a refurbished Lenovo Touchpad or Dell from Ebay. Beastly machines going for $250-300. You can even cop a Square extended warranty if that tickles your fancy.

Also blackthoughts I think you're overspending. If you're gonna be surfing, burning, downloading and printing just get this:

4gigs of ram is more than enough for that ish.
