Can DR. Dre even be considered worthy of his "legendary" producer status?

1. Show us the fact that Scott Storch produced any Dr. Dre beat, and after that explain why all dre's beats are better than his.

2. Dr. Dre schooled all these kids on production, everyone who worked with him got schooled by him.

3. He can't write lyrics that's it, he was a very dope rapper though. Dope flow, delivery, performer etc.

Straight Outta Compton, nikkaz 4 Life, Doggystyle, 2001, Chronic, No One Can Do It Better
besides the full albums he made the beats to and produced, which are probably 5 out of the 20 best produced albums of all time.

He also produced other full albums, not made the beats (even though he made a few on them) but his production skills as in terms of the classic definition of production is untouched as well.

1. dre is a glorifed mixer.... thats not a producer... storch comming up with a beat and doing 75% of the beat and dre comming in an mixing it making "it sound" better dont make you a great.... LETS BE REAL... BEATS MADE BY THE "GREAT" DR DRE WILL ALWAYS HAVE MORE HYPE AND SELLABLITY than a beat made by an up an comming artists...

2. HE AINT SCHOOLED SH1T.... GO LOOK AT ALL THE NWA RECORDS.. CO PRODUCED BY YELLA.. WHY YOU GIVING THAT BUM CO PRODUCITON CREDITS IF YOUR SUCH A GENIUS... SECONDLY HUTCH SCHOOL DRE ON ALL THE CHRONIC PRODUCTION STYLE...ALL OF IT... ITS WELL KNOWN DRE "BORROWED" THAT WHOLE G FUNK STYLE

ALSO DAZ WAS ALL OVER THE CHRONIC AND DOGGYSTILE... TAKE A LOOK AT DAZ SOLO STUFF AFTER WORDS ITS LIKE SECOND COUSINS OF THOSE ALBUMS... DRES WORK AFTER DEATH ROW SOUNDED LIKE WAIT FOR IT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.ANOTHER PRODUCER HELPING HIM..

3. yeah cool... has nothing to do with his production though

he is over ratd garbage who WILL NEVER PUT OUT AN ALBUM FULLY PRODUCED BY HIS OWN "LEGENDARY " TALENT... he cant ... never had it never will...

I know you like to do ecstacy, and then forget where you are
Be up in a room with a stripper, and your homie Lamar
Now that's a nasty threesome, a straight mis-match
Instead of bangin' on the broad, you'd rather open his hatch
And start packin'... and get some dookie on your tip
Don't look now, you got a loogie on your lip
Next time video tape it, let us all see it
This is Sir Herb, I'll put you on the web - you pervert
The number 23 on the beats, 'bout to do ya
Mister Blake A.K.A. DJ Quik talkin' to ya
And I'll prove I'm proper and yo game is whack with 1 line
I'll never put my name on a track that wasn't mine
This hip-hip shyt, is getting stupid again
These nikkas gun-tottin', fightin', gettin' rutless again
There's a message in the Big Book, didn't you read it?
It say if nikkas don't remember the past, they gonn' repeat it
So I'm into ???ated
That ground heart-stated
And we all made it
If you want a hit, nikka, call David
The first name basis, depends on how the pay is
50 under the table do it enough, don't need a label
'Cause I rob from the rich and I... gives to the ?floor?
The ground-level ground shovel diggin' up some more
So let's stay focused 'cause the chip is the prize
Now put your shyt in first, nikka, and shift it to rise
And like Frank Nitti, ?We 2-degree?
And you haters trippin' cause I got the key to the city
Not a sissy but the hoes keep callin' us pretty
And you mad 'cause the bytch got me on her titty
Mr. Troutman talk me talkbox, do why diddy!
And I'll tell you to your ear, nikka, you sound shytty
I'll take your hoe up to the room and show her no pity
So call me DJ Meow Mix 'cause we gets kitty (meow)
Scratchin' all the fleas off of these
Stayin' high off of trees
Top villian, and enjoyin' the breeze
And the time I'm spendin' in yo bytch, a supreme blast
In the back of my S-500 playin' Dreamcast

\Kam got get-back
So get up off my dikk, rat
nikka, that shyt whack
You want a hit track?
Where Quik at?
Knick, knack, patty whack
I only bone dimes
How you tight? You don't even write your own rhymes
It's been a long time
Since you last heard from me
Like Bill ass Hillary, "what's up?"
Still love me, pretty young thang?
City I'm from bang
What's up, nikka?
Real G's don't wear titty and tongue rings
You's a fruity-o, you make the most excuses
And keep a studio full of ghost producers
Young boss heard
You was tryin' to floss, nerd
Hollerin' "which side is the realest?"
Who you steal that from? (Mausberg)
The street slang thief is your chief employment
You live a life full of grief after brief enjoyment
Fake gang bangers, when you see us, tuck all rags
Adios, buenos dias, fukk y'all fags

Dre one of the most overrated cats in history of rap.....

dude make a album every 10-15 years and the leg work is done by others(producing/beatmaking, rapping, and writing) that MF'er better make damn near classics everytime out with so much time given to produce and so much help and resources

thank you..

not only that he practiccally has interscope in his back pocket and anything he would put out would get HUGE PUSHES AND PROMOTIONS FROM THE INDUSTRY BUT STILL THE GUY IS AFRAID TO PUT OUT HIS OWN STUFF...

DIDNT HE SAY DETOX WAS GOING TO HAVE A BUNCH OF OTHER PRODUCERS...

:snoop:I've done heard it all from the-coli, earlier some guy said Jay-z's not that great of rapper and now Dr. Dre is not that great of a producer. Like already stated a beat maker and a producer are not the same thing. Let me put it to you using this analogy using sports. A producer is like the coach while the rapper, beatmakers, instrumentalists, vocalists are the players. The producer's main goal is to call the shots on the production of the piece, they make sure transitions are straight, they get the rapper and vocalists to rap/sing a certain way, instrumentalist to play this here and there and their duty is to put all these components together and get the best possible execution. Now alot of times the producer is also the beatmaker or heavily involved with that aspect but you dont have to make the beat necessarily to be a producer.

so puffy is a great producer now???

when we say producer we mean producer of beats... aka your making the beat and forming the beats... not mixing

if thats the case then there are a bunch of white engineers whove prob mixed all the rap classics out there THAT CAN STAKE A CLAIM ON BEING A GREAT "PRODUCERS" AND CHALLENGING THE MANTLE OF GREAT REAL PRODUCERS LIKE RZA OR DJQUIK OR PREMIER...LOL...

Dubcnn: Do people still ask you the question who really invented G-Funk?

*laughs* Yeah, they do! It's funny, cause people know who invented G-Funk! The people who ask me, they're telling me "You invented it!" *laughs* They know the history. But yeah, the thing about it is that I don't even live off that. It's just that I've done something, I've influenced somebody, and I wanted my credit for that influence. I innovated a certain sound in this industry and people don't give me credit for it. People just look over me, people don't even put me in nothing, even if that person don't put me in nothing, knowingly that enough people know the true story, for you guys to print that. It's bad in that sense, not to say that "The person who took it is wack for taking it" No. Music is influence, when we click together we all influence each other. That's a compliment.

If I do something good and you utilize it and you come up, that's a compliment. What's messed up, is when you don't give that person the credit, when you don't pay homage to that person. It's like learning a skill from somebody and saying you made it up, and not giving your teacher the proper credit. That's my problem with it. It's not even about this person doing something with it and winning from it, it's only about "give me my credit, give me my just due." I worked hard coming up with a theory and an idea to be different than everybody else, you know what I mean?

Dubcnn: Do you have a relationship with Dr. Dre?

No, I'm not in contact with Dr. Dre at all. Not that it's a issue or whatever, but I could give a shyt, because nobody give a shyt about me. I'ma keep it real with you. I don't have any contact, any situation, nor do I desire to even be in contact with somebody like that, who don't have no love for me, basically. You know what I mean? It's sad, because I'm the type of guy who would give you my last, I help you, you ask me things, I help you. Do you think anybody gave a fukk about me when I got out of prison? No! For real, I'm just gonna keep it real.

This is my first interview, it's gonna be the realest. But no, I don't have a relationship with him, we don't talk, we don't compare notes, none of that. And this is a person that was once close to me and basically taught me everything I know as far as making records. My dad and my uncle taught me how to write music, but he taught me how to make records, how to put it on tape, how to EQ, mix and everything. That was my teacher man. It's funny, cause we don't have a personal relationship, we don't have a working relationship, we don't have anything.

^^^^^BASICALLY DRES PRODUCTION CAREER IS THAT HE IS REALLY GOOD AT PUSHING PLAY AND RECORD BUT HE COULDNT PRODUCE A BEAT TO SAVE HIS LIFE.... GLORFIED MIXER...

Dre can't get no legendary status off of records he did in the 80's and early 90's alone. If that's the case Marley Marl and a whole host of others need to be in the convo as well. If that's the case Q-Tip shyts on Dr Dre off the first 3 Tribe Albums alone. Dr Dre is still up there with the Mount Rushmore of producers. The problem with saying who's number 1 and this and that, is all based on a persons taste in music. Dr Dre is a HOF producer and that's all that matters.

So Marley Marl ISN'T a legend? :dwillhuh:
