Majority of "black" movies are either romance comedies, "I had to sell Crack to get out of the hood" tropes or slave movies (where the slaves continually take Ls). Even if you are going to make a alave movie its never about the Haitan Revolution, or the other nunerous rebellions in the Americas. We need more mainstream black sci-fi, horror, action and fantasy films. That's why I'm glad for Jordan Peele for slowly starting to kick down the door.

Facts. Ryan Coogler is another dude I like too. Black Panther and Creed are a step in the right direction

You for real? It's a comedy but Friday is literally the story of a dude losing his job for being a nikka, getting caught up with a drug dealer, and almost dying like 3 different ways.

A grown man was literally harassed into sharing his bike with a convict named after the crimes he consistently commits.

I’m very for real….Friday is not a “hood trauma” movie from criteria in the OP. Might b for u, but naaaaaah
