Because they tend to support/ vote issues that benefit us, mutually.
Without them, we're looking at Romney for 8 years and a plethora more Tea Party members in both Senate and House.... Not to mention one of the only few good justices is Hispanic.

Disenfranchised people have the same struggles and have mutual issues that if we in aggregate vote to solve can be of benefit to everyone. It's called having a common enemy, does not mean we have to be friends. Not a hard concept to grasp. they get immigration reform and immunity and we get resources for education/ socio-economic stability and things like deregulation of marijuana possession.
