Palm Tree's & Blunts
Big timah timah
good album but I like Infamous and HOE over any Nas album
What don't you like about nas?

I agree Dame somehow gets lost in the shuffle I guess Swizz was better at marketing himself though.fukk a hit. Dame Grease is the production that got people to love X in he first place. Swizz had ONE song on IDAHIH. And it wasn't the best song by far. Dame Grease gave X that moody shyt. Gave him his vibe.
His fans.
Lol I think he's overrated in the grand scheme of things. Very talented rapper but we have many of those who are less appreciated like Pharoahe Monch for example. His discography doesn't stack up against others, mainly because of production and sequencing. If he wasn't held in as high a regard and considered GOAT by everyone for no real good reason I would appreciate him more.
Nas falling off is 1 of the biggest mtyhs & loads of crap in hip hop history
It started when stupid hip hop purist & media didnt like the direction he went in on IWW with more opulence, mafiaso & kingpin ducktales mixed in with intelligence & he went into it even more on i am
Then you owe me came out & they minds was made up that he had officially fell off even tho he still was selling records & in the pop charts
Nastradamus may be a misstep but how many missteps does dmx have what about jay
Easily, DMX has with out question 1 classic album ( it's dark and hell is hot) and arguably 3.
Nas only has one.
For this to even be a question is an example of nas having higher expectations...To me I Am and Nastradamus are, from a qualitative standpoint, on the same level as X's first 3 albums...Those are nas' consensus worse projects
Now when considering X after his third album might as not even exist...And Nas has late career gems like Untitled and Life is Good and still blesses the odd feature verse...This is absurd
I'm not much a fan of a lot of old school hip hop but I acknowledge the greats. I constantly hear talks of NAS being the GOAT particularly because of illmatic and his classic flows & verses HOWEVER going back and listening to hip hop and listening to DMX albums especially when he was in his prime, I don't see how Nas stans can make a case for him being better than X. I don't really care for illmatic but understand why some do but after that it appears to me that Nas fell off hard and while X also fell off his albums & impact seems to have aged like fine wine in comparison with Nas. Question for you guys? Can you show me evidence or clips or fashion or something of new aged rappers wanted to dress & write rhymes like nas? Don't think so... X lyrics, style & beats are so simplistic and easy that i believe the younger generation like myself can vibe more to his music. Despite being out of the game for some time DMX still get's a lot love from the 18-24 demographics and hes as much as recluse as NAS is... look i respect Nas but he doesn't have a better discography than DMX. Dmx is truly the better rapper. Sorry nas stans, now go on and neg me for this post
One of the few old school rappers I fukk with; kept it raw and simple was not trying to flex his vocabulary
All hail Dark Man X
No. I don't see how. ACTUALLY it's the opposite. nikka got and gets criticism for shyt that ALOT of other legends got passes for. Ever since his second album. Him oweing his legacy to Illmatic is retarded as well considering that most Nas fans got on to him thru IWW and went BACK for Illmatic. And alotta people feel IWW >>> Illmatic even tho I myself don't feel that way. DMX was untouchable to me at one point. Like I said the only person on this site whose may be a bigger fan of X than me is @FreshAIG . But this comparison is nonsense if we ain't talkin bout 98-2000..nas owes his legacy to illmatic.
he gets a lot of passes for his shortcomings. for example, all the contradictory arguments that nas fans are making against DMX.
but then again, nas is the king of contradiction, so its only right.
i'll take "flesh of my flesh" over all of those besides illmatic.
