The thing is almost nobody aspires towards the back door. Songwriters/ghostwriters are on the same path as popular acts until their foot is in the door and they get cast aside due to lacking certain traits or simple poor luck of the draw.Facts, the simple love for the music is where it starts. If you stick with it you’ll get a shot. With that said, I think the best bet would be to get in through the back door as a song writer or some ancillary role. From there, you can use the resources around you to do your shyt and network until you get your shot.
Writing becomes the bill payer and if they become financially successful enough at it the need to be upfront wanes. But most young undiscovered creatives want the stuff they created to be recognized with them.
