So you’re admitting Troy sucks at his job which why you are hiring a President of basketball opps so why keep him in the building :mjlol:
Because they were dumb enough to give him an extension last offseason and now they don't want to fire and pay multiple people

I'm sure they would if they still didn't owe him like 65 million dollars. That's a lot of money to just ask an owner to eat
From what I've read, the owner says he'll eat the money if that's what Langdon wants to do.

If that's the case, he might want to hurry up and do it before he changes his mind.

That's a bitter pill to swallow, since you also have to hire another HC and pay two people for the same job

True, but if they know that Monty isn't the guy, then there's no use in keeping him around and making an awkward dynamic even worse.

Go the young and cheap route and hope that he grows along with the roster like they should have done.

This. And who wants this job? Who do we want to get this job? I say keep him. Monty didn’t have a chance to coach an nba roster in Detroit. He did in Phoenix. All of these guys need talent to succeed.

I’m sure they can find a young coach out there that’d be willing to take the opportunity and the pay along with it.

Monty never made sense anyways as that roster wasn’t ready to compete and is still years away from doing so.

I agree with the bold but I disagree with the other rest. They had to know it’d be a mess and if I’m an established coach I want a lengthy contract to fix this situation.

They should have never went after an established coach is my point and where they fukked up at.

The moment Monty said no, they should have pivoted elsewhere instead of giving him an offer they knew he wouldn’t turn down.
