I just woke up, and this shyt is on the top of the twitter trending page
This is why we continue to not get respect. There are too many black people in the public eye who make whites feel justified for our mistreatment. Hell, even WHITE people are calling him out!
What the hell does ambition, and money have to do with me being followed around the store, or being harassed by the police, or white people having such low expectations of me, that they HAVE to mention how well spoken I am? They have our negative statistics memorized down to the percentage. That is not the kind of treatment I want, or will continue to put up with. You have black doctors being treated the same way. You have black COPS who will tell you the difference in how they are treated in uniform, compared to how they are treated out of uniform. On top of that, they complain when we’re around, but get mad and call us racist when we get sick of it, and say, “Hey, the feeling is mutual now”. I’m not saying I don’t want to be around them because the chances of someone overdosing in front of me is high, or some depressed white man is going to shoot me because a bunch he wants to kill a bunch of random people, or some white boy is going to grab my future daughter’s crotch, because the president said he did it, and was rewarded for it.
And most importantly, black entertainers are not good examples of success. Most people regardless of race are not going to work in the entertainment field. So when entertainers, especially rappers say, “I made it, so can you.” It doesn’t really give any decent inspiration. Those of us who want to make it, make it, but it takes twice as much work, and stress dealing with extra bullshyt.
