Just saw that his gofundme Page is gone

It sounds like he couldn’t or wouldn’t provide proof to GoFundMe that he was using or planned to use the funds as intended in his campaign.

The bigger point through all of this is the fact that Umar’s ability to execute on a plan of this scale is lacking.

At worst, he’s a fraud.

At best, he’s clearly not equipped from a tactical perspective to execute. He’s an idea man. He would have been better off assembling a team to pull this off as opposed to trying to be a one-man band. But, his ego got in the way of that, as he wants all the glory.

You do know Umar isn’t the first and only Black scholar to focus on the education and psychology of Black children?

Giants such as Bobby Wright, Amos Wilson, Jawanza Kunjufu, Asa Hilliard and scores of others debated and dissected this decades before Umar came on the scene. He’s adding nothing new to the conversation that isn’t already captured in some book collecting dust on a shelf at your local Black book shop.

He could have enlisted the support of well-known experts in this space such as Jawanza Kunjufu, Mwalimu Baruti and others. Kunjufu has written several books on the subject! They could have plugged him into an entire network of people who would have been willing to help him execute on his plan.

Or, he could have proactively partnered with people such as Dr. Samori, founder of Kamali Academy.

Hell no he’s not supposed to be living off the school donation money. I’m speaking simply from the gofundme money, any private donations he gets, then fine. But the gofundme money should be for the school period.

And I haven’t seen the books, and I’m also not saying that I know something with “100 percent certainty” like this you are.

I don’t know wtf Umar is doing with that money, but I do know that no school or solid plans for a school has materialized from it.

He's no better equipped in 2018 than he was in 2014 to execute. He's still a one-man team.

Again, you don't need a physical building to start a school. There are many ways he can get the school going before the physical infrastructure is in place. The online, on-demand delivery model (with a subscription fee) is the no-brainer way.

Using that model, he could raise the money for the physical school organically over the course of 3-4 years while proving out his model.

He's done none of that, which leads me to believe either 1) he's a fraud or 2) he simply doesn't know what he's doing.
