Here is the thing about candidates like Bernie:

- I think they can present a platform that would appeal to average people and would move the country in the right direction

BUT

- I just can't see someone like that winning. When I look at what happened to Jeremy Corbyn in the UK (absolutely destroyed by the media, not to mention his own party), it becomes clear to me that the powers that be just won't allow it. I am sure there is some sort of scenario and some sort of climate under which a true leftist could win, but I just can't conceive of what it would look like and how it could happen.
Charismatic and endearing :ehh:

They can be as charismatic and endearing as possible, I think they would still get destroyed by traditional media and the new "social media." The constant barrage of smears about their character and platform would be too much to overcome.

No, I actually said I hate boule negroes like Obama who wouldn’t piss on other black people if they caught fire, which he has done in his career, so fukk off with that. America has generations of boule negroes and wannabe boule negroes—which I assume you want to aspire to be—who have pushed against poor and lower-middle-class black people's practical and material needs to satisfy their livelihoods.

Wealthy white people and boule black people have been fukking us over for damn near the same time. So fukk you for saying I am toxic and defeatist for not bowing to people who have the power to help, who we elected to help, and instead allowed the wealthy—which is what Obama did and the King of New York, Eric Adams, is currently doing.
What should Obama have done that he didn’t?

Really the only thing the government should do that it currently doesn’t IMO is provide free healthcare, higher education and improved lower education in impoverished areas.

A degree of responsibility and change in mindset facilitated by education is needed for one to defeat poverty. Free money from the government isn’t going to help, just create more dependency

I disagree. People's views on Sanders remain largely positive and unchanged.

Conservatives just hate socialism.

Bottom Line

Americans' opinions of capitalism have generally been stable over the past decade, with around six in 10 having a positive view of capitalism and slightly fewer than four in 10 having a positive view of socialism. Democrats view both economic systems favorably, but have become more positive toward socialism than capitalism.

Recent Gallup research found that Americans, particularly Democrats, are most likely to think of socialism in terms of equality and government provision of benefits and services. When Gallup polled Americans on the meaning of socialism in 1949, the largest proportion described it in the traditional sense as government ownership of the means of economic production. Thus, the meaning of the term to Americans is evolving, but most still view it negatively.

Obama is infallible in the eyes of loyal democrats, like a liberal Reagan, the path to more progressive candidates isn't through Obama's legacy. Of course you can point to useful idiots like Clyburn, Warren and Obama but at the end of the day it would have been a wrap if Sander's younger supporters voted.

We really need new blood .If my memory serves me well,I read an article about a pharmacist that was handling Alzheimer’s medication for a lot of congress members.

Most of these elderly politicians, won’t be around for the all catastrophic shyt that will occur in the 2030s and beyond.

There’s a reason why a lot of self made wealthy individuals have a high degree of personal responsibility.

If you believe that people shouldn’t be rewarded for their efforts then we have a fundamental disagreement on how society should be run. I believe a true meritocracy is superior than a socialist or communist society. Is America currently a true meritocracy? No but I believe it can come close to it

Obama is a neoliberal so I’m not sure how shytting on him affects anyones views on progressives
Most liberals in America like the guy they elected twice and continue to listen to his families podcasts and Netflix shows.:pachaha:

Americans that view socialism positively don't view it as you do either. :sas1:

If progressives want to win they need to focus on a couple initiatives (social programs) :sas2:
