I don't get cats bringing up the light skinned point, she wasn't even the most hyped up or popular light skinned woman. There's always been colorists, they were around back then and they are today, but she was very beautiful. And even in real time people debated Tichina and other dark women being more attractive...

I think she was considered cute back then for a "tv wife/girlfriend" because most shows used older women in those roles before then. You usually had a Harriet Winslow at worst or Mrs Huxable at best. even Mrs Huxable with her sex appeal was something you didn't appreciate as a kid because she was grown.
