Post partum depression is real. That's what it seems like, Combine that with an already unstable/ troubled/ twisted person and this is what you get. Not excusing the mom she just seems off. The dissociation. She has some issue. Glad the Aunt stepped in she isn't fit to have a child. Things like this happen more often then you here about...sometimes you hear the tragic story of a child's death. Sometimes they have family step in. Pregnancy and hormones are no joke. If you already have a problem it gets heightened.
I hope that things turn out ok for him despite the F'd up situation, it's so sad that's all you can hope for. Who has custody now?
