Then end up paying Europe top dollar to get those same materials imported back to them as finished products. embarrassingThese countries need to invest in STEM.
They are woefully behind from technological standpoint.
And a lot of African countries sell raw materials to Europe (for processing) for pennies on the dollar.
If the new leadership builds infrastructure and brings instructors to teach the farmers about innovations in agriculture, the country would be much better off.
Breaking away from Western domination means reducing your need for their resources. Gives you more options, and leverage dealing with them.

No, most of them are investing in agriculture now. It's the main focus in all African countries for this decade. Once you're able to feed yourself without imports you can do anything else.
You cant' do any STEM if you can't feed yourself.
You can't just jump to STEM.These countries need to invest in STEM.

that's a narrow minded viewpoint.
One of the reasons why China is so powerful is because they send their citizens to the US and Europe to get educated. And then they go back to their home country.
A lot of Africans leave, and never go back. More importantly, they rarely take their knowledge to help grow the country. Ibrahim is pushing agriculture, because that's all he knows. If they was up on science and technology, he would be pushing that as well.
But again, it's not just agriculture. A lot of African countries possess an abundance of natural resources that are extracted for pennies on the dollar buy western countries. Those countries have been conditioned to be sub servant to their former colonizers. That mentality has to change. Burkina Faso, Niger and a few other countries are trying to break the cycle, but it's not going to happen overnight.
You’re not looking at the bigger pictureyou dont understand and you have to think logically which you're not doing. There are young poeple who focus on STEM and those kids are able to EAT EVERYDAY
If a huge multitude has to walk 5 miles to pick rice and get water, that takes time. By the time they get home and EAT something it's time to rest for the next day. or if you have to wait on IMPORTS you food deprived, you cant think while being deprived of food
If that food is grown and processed close their home THEN they have time to spend on other things. It's COMMON SENSE.
Growing your own food also saves money and boosts your economy in so many ways
It's backwards to focus on stem first and not food. Food security is the #1 concern with EVERY nation
You’re not looking at the bigger picture
It's strange because they killed Sankara for exactly trying to move in this directionIf the new leadership builds infrastructure and brings instructors to teach the farmers about innovations in agriculture, the country would be much better off.
