Germany struggled early because dumb ass Low refused to move Lahm back to his natural position at fullback. Once he made the switch, it opened everything up and the team started to look like the Germany we expected.

But even then, their only one bad match came against Ghana which ended in a draw. Everything else has either been blowout, cruise control (U.S.), or a hard fought game with a few missed opportunities.

I cant argue with that. Theyre definitely the favorites going in.. but still, people put too much weight in the game against Brazil.

not really. once you get to the semifinals, it confirms your run is not a fluke and you have to think you can win it all. to lose 7-1 in the semifinals, whether tahiti or brazil, is an epic all-time embarrassment. and 20x more for brazil in this spot.
