Its cool Pau came here though - its unfortunate it was not the situation he thought it was though

He came in here to a lame duck coach in Thibs, and then a rookie clueless coach in Hoiberg ... and our fukkboy front office

Im not gonna shyt on Pau, he had some great moments here

Chicago
I just want to add my 2 cents for those who are down on the FO.

Yes Gar/Pax are being conservative (as always) but they're also being smart. IMO they really were shopping Jimmy but likely asking for a ridiculous return for him (as they should). Jimmy is only 26 and will probably ball out like crazy this season, meaning his value will increase. Ergo, teams will be inclined to make more lucrative offers, in a far better draft class mind you.

On to Valentine. He was a good pick for Chicago, a very good pick. For one, he compliments Jimmy very well. Secondly, I'm willing to bet Hoiberg is going to experiment with playing him at point as much as possible. The Bulls are playing it smart by seemingly not targeting any FA PGs as of now. Let's say they sign a guy like Conley to a 4 year deal and let's also assume Valentine is legit. Well now you have a logjam at either PG or SG (Jimmy is most effective at the 2) and you also locked up a middling PG for several years.

As much as people want a PG on this team, I think it's a bad move trying to rush and sign the BPA when we have no clue what we already have in Valentine and Grant.

All indications seem to be the Bulls are using this season to figure out what they have in their young players. There are a lot of young guys with potential who will finally be able to showcase their abilities. Sure, we'll likely be wasting a year of Jimmy's prime, but that year could end up paying off big time in 2017.

IMO, an ideal scenario would be if we were to mini-tank this season and get two low lottery picks (Kings pick) in the 2017 draft. This would give us PLENTY of assets to work with, regardless whether we're rebuilding or retooling.

Now, if we are in fact thinking of signing someone this summer...

Realistic players we should target THIS summer:
Barnes - We'll have to overpay but I REALLY like him next to Jimmy. Furthermore, Barnes is a player who truly makes us attractive to big name FAs. You also now have two guys who can take turns guarding LeBron.
Batum - I would also love him next to Jimmy but I doubt he leaves the Hornets.
Lin - I would throw as much as $18-20 million at him on a one-year deal to see if he bites. I would also consider throwing $12-13 million at Rondo on a 1-year deal but I honestly don't like Rondo and hope we don't do this.

Realistic FAs in 2017:

Blake Griffin - If we have a guy like Barnes to go along with Jimmy (and hopefully Valentine) now you're talking. Blake is not a stretch 4 but he's a legit volume scorer and his personality certainly meshes well with Chicago.
Gordon Hayward - This is a guy we are more likely to get in 2017. I wouldn't mind him but would prefer either Barnes or Batum.
CJ McCollum - I like him a lot but with Jimmy and Valentine he seems a bit redundant. Depending on how Valentine pans out, I'd consider throwing the bank at him to see if he bites.

I know Westbrook's name is out there but A) He's a terrible fit with Jimmy, B) I doubt he has any interest in coming to Chicago, and C) He's a guy who relies on athleticism, which will only trend down during his next contract.
No thanks on Giannis or Lowry. CP3 will be declining and Curry is a pipe dream.

So yeah, to sum things up, we probably need to prepare for another season of 40-45-ish wins and see which our of young guys has real NBA chops. After that, we'll have a much better idea of what direction to take in 2017.
But hey, at least the team will be fun to watch!

2017 free agency really ain't all that. If Hayward leaves, he's reuniting with Brad Stevens in Boston. CJ McCollum is a RFA. So is Giannis. Blake is obviously a good target, but that dude is so Hollywood, hard to see him leaving LA. Russ friendly with Rose, hard imagining him take over here at PG.

It's looking bleak. We need to either draft or trade for a star, it's not happening in FA likely.
