I spent all year last season looking at a log jam in our front court, thinking that must mean they are going to do something....

:francis: they didn't do shyt....

We starting falling and everyone was trying to convince me that they had to justify the hoiberg hiring and that is going to force them to do something

:francis: they didn't do shyt.

Now they sitting here a year ahead making sure they don't get caught in having to pay rose if he balls out.

All this let me know that jerry got his 6 titles and he is done. Title contender is not something they are striving for, they will continue to sell us the "future" and it will be just more of the same. They about to blow more of the cap on more "just enough" players to sneak us into the playoffs and that about it.

Only thing this front office realizes is that the fans are losing hope, so they may do a little something to sell the hope back to the fans. Outside of that it's quite clear where this is headed.

@GoldenGlove got to imagine roster shaping ain't done

Please dump Dunleavy off somewhere... he shouldn't get any minutes over Doug/Valentine and he has no use to us since we arent competing for a title this season.

I don't hate the front line... Taj/Lopez dirty work players... but Portis needs A LOT of burn. Developing him needs to be a huge priority no with Noah and Pau gone. Dude got lost in the shuffle last year. He's got some serious talent, we need him playing. I fukking love Felicio and want to see what he can do as the official backup center

Honestly, looking at that roster, Niko should be moved. I want Portis getting PT over him. Taj maybe moved too because he's got one year left, and does he want to be here long term? I have no idea really.

I would see what PG we can trade for using a combo of Doug/Niko/Taj , and the Sac pick as a throw in since we won't be seeing it. They are easily a bottom ten team unless they make a HUGE FA signing out of nowhere.

Grant needs PT, at least as primary backup.

Snell , no words needed. Smh

Need to trim the fat on that roster and try to steal a PG like Bledsoe maybe? Then you can make a move for someone like Crabbe or Bazemore.

I dunno, it's almost easier not thinking about all this shyt and letting it play out, cause I'm not even clear on whether we are rebuilding or retooling

Fred's got his work cut out to find a working rotation out of that :merchant:
Moves have to be made. No other way around... I'm just curious to see what they are after. They could 're-tool' depending on what trades they have in store and who they get in free agency. It's just weird, because with what they already have, and with who they acquired from NYC and in the Draft, it would appear they are not looking to go crazy on a free agent.

There are some notable bigs available they might have entertained, like Dwight, Whiteside etc.... But they just grabbed Lopez who's under contract til 2019, and they already have a young big that they like in Felicio. So that would tell me they aren't targeting a center in free agency.

Al Horford is too good to consider this franchise and I'm sure Noah has been told him to stay away from Chicago. And real contenders will be knocking at his door with the same if not more money to offer him.

Then you had your SFs, like Barnes, Batum etc... even Bazemore who wouldn't of been a bad look for a 're-tool', but drafting Valentine tells me they not looking at SFs... but then I saw the report about Evan Turner. So really all in all, I don't know what is going on. They didn't draft a guard at 14, so they must REALLY like Jerian Grant and his upside. The only guard they wanted in that draft was Dunn, period, and they seem to be content with rolling the dice with Grant going forward.

Yes, that's what I hope happens. Moves kind of indicate that's what's in play.

Package some of your guys like you suggest for a point guard. Groom Grant as the backup and then go from there. I would love adding Bledsoe and recouping whatever we lost by adding Crabbe or Bazemore type. If that can be done while keeping Jimmy, then that's definitely a 're-tool' and the Bulls would be exciting and fun to watch next season.

Back to them not makin the offs or gettin knocked out in the 1st rd days:wow::scust:
Breh we ain't even as good as that baby bulls squad, them dudes would be running this current roster off the floor, that squad got up to 4th in the east. Curry could score inside, chandler rebounded his ass off, Ben gordon was a hell of a closer, deng was consistent on both ends. They would be getting us up outta here smh

I'm looking at unrestricted free agents,...and it's not pretty.

Evan Turner (don't need)
Henry Sims (underrated, but bleh)
Jeremy Lin (I'd actually like this)
Jordan Hill (ehhhh)
Luol Deng (I'd play him at PF)
Norris Cole (maybe)
Kevin Seraphin (solid)
Jason smith (ehh)
Ish Smith (I'd like)
James Johnson (PF?)

We'd have to outbid their current team

Seth Curry (trying to catch lighting in a bottle)
Dewayne Dedmon
Dwight Powell (underrated)
Jordan Clarkson? (we'd probably be priced out)

I mean...this shyt is said, I'm forcing myself to like some of these choices...

How can that list make what we have better? adding Lin to start at PG?...shyt is mad underwhelming and keeps us in purgatory ...IF Grant, Mcdormett, Mirotic, Portis and Felicio take a leap we can make the playoffs just in time to be ousted in the 1st round

Grant/ Calderon
Valentine/ Dinwiddie
Butler/ Mcdormett/ Snell
Gibson/ Mirotic/ Portis
Lopez/ Felicio/

shyt though... we keep this roster we got a shot at a high pick tho lol
the way that ugly ass gar came out, trying to pride himself on how many times they have made the playoffs, tells me they are going to do enough to at least try to do that. same thing after rose went down and i thought they would tank and at the last minute brought in nate and marco.

if they were really about high picks, they would have traded jimmy. they still want to compete for playoff revenue.

thing is, that might just not matter, the east is going to make another jump in improvement and those type of rosters the bulls used to still compete with when the east was trash wont work now. so even when they add brandon bass and evan turner types, they still will likely miss the playoffs based on the talent gap.

only shot we have of a decent future is if jimmy goes ape shyt. im really hoping for it. otherwise we have to settle in to the magic/sixers/ brooklyn level for at least the next 5 years. smh

The Valentine pick is a safe traditional Bulls pick.

In a random and weak draft, you swing for the fences IMO. Not a safe pick. The Bucks selecting Thon Maker for example...

This pick is like a 40 degree day
:ehh:

the only issue with VAlentine, noting he's safe

he's old , 23 years old and might have bad knees

if he's healed that's fine

but the 23 year old thing is one of those things you have to be careful. When you're a 4 year senior at 23 and playing against 18/19 year olds you have an advantage of experience. alot of that goes away, because the NBA game is quite different and you have to discern whether Valentines stats were because he was really that good or if it was the experience of playing 4 years in a system against youngre guys.

so i like to look at these guys sophomore and junior years and it's comforting to see that valentine was still a solid shooter, scorer and all purpose guy even as a younger player. So while not 100% safe (due to injuries) I agree
