I really like the pick and feel Valentine was the BPA at 14. His skill set fits perfectly with Hoiball and our current roster. He can also play spot minutes at PG and possibly even play the position full-time. He also fits perfectly alongside Jimmy (unlike Derrick) and I can see the two of them feasting in transition.

With that said, I'm remaining ambivalent due to his health concerns. Fool me once w/ Derrick... Until I see him string together 2-3 healthy seasons, it will be hard for me to relinquish my pessimism.

As for the Bulls as a team, well, we don't have a PG nor do we have a legit 2nd scorer (Niko possibly?) ergo, I'm not expecting them to be good next year. Which, by the way, is a good thing. I'm okay with tanking for a mid-lotto pick (and hopefully the King's pick) and going into 2018 with picks and cap space. We'll also have another year to see which of our young guys are legit.
It's possible the Bulls could be right back in the mix in two years.

Now the worst thing the Bulls could do right now is sign a guy like Conley. That would TRULY place us in NBA hell for the next several years. We need to just roll with what we have and accept another year of mediocrity/development.

any chance the bulls take a chance on cousins in the offeseason or am i being too optimistic....for some reason i think cousins and jimmy on the same team might yield some unexpected results

Do we have the pieces to acquire Cousins? I dont think so breh

Lopez, Niko, Portis, Doug, 2017 1st, probably would need to give up 2018 too tbh

I dunno I don't think we have the assets

I don't know if I'm mad we didn't go for Kay Felder, or I'm mad the Cavs got him. This could've been one less priority as I think Felder would've been really productive for us. Seriously like Isaiah Thomas.

Would've allowed us to go all in on Horford to replace Gasol. Now, we we'll end up with lesser pieces in FA. That's my prediction.

Here is a report on Denzel Valentines knee, that looked to be overblown so he would be there @ 14.

Im coming around on the Valentine pick @ℒee

I didnt realize he was such a prolific shooter :ohhh:

Bulls are stupid if they turned down Dunn/Lavine for Jimmy though

I love Jimmy, but that trade allows sets us up beautifully for a full rebuild

Dunn/Lavine/Valentine/Portis/Doug, Felicio (YES, IM INCLUDING HIM, I love dudes game lowkey lol)

and we'll be bad enough to get a top 5 pick in a loaded 2017 draft ... thats the move to make right now. Unless they know something about FA that Im not seeing right now.

That would've been a slam dunk for the rebuild.

....but people are so caught up in what Valentine can't do. I'm noticing a trend of the FO targeting smart basketball players. Not necessarily athletic or defenders...Hoiball must require smart play

I think WE turned down the deal ... smh.

Back to Denzel though - I didnt realize how great his shooting was. He is an elite shooter?

Im seeing him on catch and shoots, off the dribble, hitting from NBA range, and hitting the midrange from the elbows.

This dude can shoot his ass off, yeah?

I was under the impression he would just be an OK shooter - I think I was wrong?

Yes, he's a hell of a shooter. The release is quick, he can catch and shoot from any spot on the 3 point line, his percentage is high. He was a do it all player in college, the only concerns about him was his age and a supposedly bad medical history.

He averaged something like 20/7/7 in college
