Bulls trade Derrick Rose to Knicks, change direction of franchise
That's because the Bulls had received strong signals that Rose would be open to testing free agency in 2017 and likely to leave his hometown, sources said. Rose, in the final season of a deal that will pay him $21.3 million this season, will again be seeking maximum dollars.

Instead, in a deal Forman called "a retool rather than a rebuild," the Bulls proactively tried to get some return for Rose, clearly the best player in the trade. Sources said other exploratory talks led to teams asking the Bulls to include a future first-round pick to take on Rose's contract, knowing he could walk in free agency next summer.

I know I need to have better perspective here .... and its probably a logical move RIGHT NOW, but shiiiit

It really hurts
Eh, I came to the realization that it needed to be done a while ago.

Even if Rose had a great year, I'm not willing to give him the deal he'd want.

I don't trust GarPax to do this correctly though.

just wish they got something better in return tho...
I dont think there was a better return out there from what Im hearing

We got a starting center on a good deal and 1st round pick Knick fans seemed to really like (and our front office liked before last draft)

Teams were asking us to throw in a future 1st, his value wasn't that high.

He hasn't been healthy since 2011, he let everyone know before last season started that he's seeking a big deal and there's probably only a few teams he'd be willing to resign with, his current salary would require most teams to give up a lot of players.

Gar Forman: "We need to find players that will fit the style of play that Fred wants to play." :francis::stopitslime:

so this was about :cape: for fred again and proven to the world this FO was right and thibs wasn't the best coach for the team

make dumb ass statements and follow them up with
Asked if Jimmy Butler is still on table, Forman says "Jimmy fits our direction"

so ISO ball is part of Hoiballs sytemn now :aicmon::rudy::camby::camby:

I'm sorry brehs its been fun but i think u will find me in the knicks season thread even more then this 1 next year , specially if noah goes to NY

this FO has taken the levels of :dahell:

:shaq2:to a all new lvl .. i said it in the rose to knicks rumor thread a few days back that ' as horace grant as michaels reisondorfs special advisor this was definitely possible - that horace would be advising them to jerian the keys to the team and now look :mindblown:

Man this is like if the Yankees traded Derek Jeter. Front office could of traded anybody else and I would of been fine with that but not Rose. Lifelong Bulls fan but I gotta follow D Rose. NY is my birthplace so I guess that eases the pain a little bit.:mjcry:

Please let calderon be cut tomorrow

We all seen this coming though I'm not as hurt as I thought it would be but its like we been in a relationship that ended 4 years ago that we been Tryna rebuild. shyt been over.

I have no faith in this franchise rebuilding though. I have no clue where we go from here but I had no clue where we go before we got here
Calderon ain't getting cut. Jerry ain't gonna eat his $7M salary.
