Man I'm rooting for Grant, I know he got some issues with decision making but I really think that's something he can iron out with experience and playing time. He was the same last year for the Knicks, but he also had some stretches where he displayed some fantastic play making ability.

I'd be more worried about his jumper than anything. I'm not sure if it will ever come along....

grant seems like the kind of player who flourishes in iso ball, similar to what nate robinson or aaron brooks was for us at a point of time. but i dont know how he will contribute as far as play making, decision making, he seemed to struggle a lot in that area. and now he about to play the real games.

i spent the past 2 seasons watching players continue to get 15-20 minutes and literally give us nothing while they were on the floor. i really dont want anymore players like that. the rookie likely about to take all the back up pg minutes. dinwiddie might be able to get some back up sg minutes, i dont know where grant will fit in here. hopefully he improves but im not that impressed with how he got his scoring in the summer league. looking for other skills from him and i just dont see it.

Can't lie

I was really bummed out a month or so ago when rose got traded

Adding wade, seeing jimmy going hard this off season, seeing the progression of portis, seeing we got another one with valentine, going undefeated and winning the summer league with players who should be doing that since they are on our roster anyway, has restored some hope in me on this team.

:mjcry: what a time to be alive bulls brehs!!

Word, we're definitely gonna be a lot more interesting to watch than we were a few weeks ago. The future was looking real bleak for a second :whew:

We not going to be able to bomb teams into bolivian wit the trey ball but I'm starting to like our roster:lupe:

Doug is fasho wit it but If Niko, Jimmy, and Portis are respectable from deep, we might be nice.
Us not having 3pt shooting and space being bad is being extremely exaggerated and seen from people analyzing simply the starting 5.

Doug
Niko
Valentine
Portis
Grant
Dinwiddle
Jimmy
Snell (well at least for his annual hot month)
Canan

Are all guys who can knock a 3 down. That is 8 guys not including wade hitting a big shot here and there and rondo the same. Not like they will never hit a 3, just not at a curry klay kind of clip, which btw, that can be said about every other team in the league, you got curry hitting 50% from half court and klay who can drop 37 in a quarter.

The thing is the cavs only had 1 player in they starting 5 who hit 3s at 40%, that was jr smith. The others, kyrie 32% love 36% and lebron 30% really turned it on in the playoffs, so I guess what I'm saying is, as long as they hit them when it counts I could care less about being this golden state hybrid. As thibs said, you can't run a warriors kind of scheme unless you have the right kind of pieces to do so. We have to do what works for us and run that great. Screw this imaginary hoiball bs, he need to show us he can coach at all, cause right now I rather have Pete meyers.

But If teams want to pack the paint we do have shooters who can change that. How many shooters do we need?

Niko has to be consistent with his 3 ball next season, he can't be all over the place and putting up bad 30 footers, he has to be locked in and knocking down his open shots. I think Doug will continue to do that, but it's on Niko to get there. If those 2 are over 40% from 3 and the others just shoot decent from there, we will be ok from distance.

valentine reminded me of a certain other point guard drafted here a sec ago, (*ahem) in the fact it seemed he didnt want to force the issue, was pretty passive, but he has great point guard ability, his vision on the court is great, his passing ability is top notch, he made passes i had to take double takes on cause as it seemed he was going to 1 guy it hits another guy in stride right in the hands, he played great off the bigs, he played a lot of passing lanes and got steals, he seems to at least give defensive effort, although i saw him snoozing on defense a few times, but he a rook, that can improve, but the most glaring thing about denzel was when the games got crunch, he hit big shot after big shot. he not scared of the moment. gets no more better than a 3 to tie to send to overtime and a game winning shot for the summer league championship. yea just the summer league but still impressive.

he def can get all the back up pg minutes next season.

im not impressed with grant at all. seems like a aaron brooks type who will have a hot streak here and there going iso, but his other skills are shaky. put it like this, i much rather see rondo then see what i saw from him in the summer league.

In the ocean where the sharks be at
you think that will translate against the actual real NBA players tho?

He's got nba talent fasho. I think the passing and rebounding will definitely translate. He's got a quick release on his jumper so if he put the time in, he should be straight.

He can contribute to a team right now. Only thing u really gotta worry about wit dude is his defense. His lateral quickness is trash
