The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
its for sure a :patrice: fit , Rondo coming off the bench would solve everything tho

Wade/Jimmy/Doug/Niko/Lopez

Rondo/Valentine/Snell, Zipser/Taj/Felicio

I like those rotations and if Valentine is ready, I would flip him and Doug in those projected rotations

I got some sneaky high hopes for this Zipser cat .... could be our new Nocioni

He doesnt look like your typical Euro dude... he actually attacks the rim

Rondo isn't coming off the bench, hoiberg don't have the Bulls

You guys are underrating rondo, I get that the fit is iffy but you'll like him

Just can't get excited for the bulls this year.

I really wanted to see Jimmy and our other young guys get some great touches, maybe take a step forward.

I can understand the optimism though, these are great low risk, high reward signings. Just wish garpax would pick a fukkin direction and run with it. Are we contending or not?
The direction is clear to me...

This year be a competitive team, with some young core pieces that can contribute (Doug, Valentine, Portis, Grant...). Goal should be to make the ECFs.

Toronto made it last year and they were suspect all season... especially in the playoffs. You get to the ECFs, and then next summer you have Wade/Jimmy and potentially 2 max contracts to work with to sell the big names on signing here...

Boston got eliminated in the 1st Round and they still got Horford. If the Bulls make it to the 2nd Round, let alone the ECFs, they will be a prime destination for stars looking to win a title ASAP. Being in the East works to our advantage now as well.

Rondo/Wade signing means Niko becomes more important. I doubt the Bulls want to hand him 20M+s next year if he plays good this year, so what is the plan for Niko now that he could very well be called on to start for us this year?

I'm a UK fan but rondo can't score outside the paint, and his athleticism has declined and he's never developed any type of skilled offensive game to compensate

Rondo's 3 point shooting last year was good tho

He's still one of the best rebounding point guards in the league too

He's two years removed from acl surgery so there's a chance that some of that athleticism can come back

Bulls are intriguing to me

His cap hold will only be something like $8.5 million in the offseason and he can be extended over the cap, potentially huge value there

Yep, I believe what this means is that we can sign Niko at 15M a year, but his cap hold of 8.5 will be what counts against the cap

Do you know how this works?

Well he did bench Noah last season as a rookie HC, but yeah, I don't see Rondo off the bench either

Chicago
If Niko does improve and plays well this season, put a package together and send him to SAC for Boogie or just wait it out

They retain his rights in free agency by reserving the amount of the cap hold out of their cap space, he can sign for any amount but until he does he only counts for the 8.5 and they can go over the cap to re-sign him

Basically as long as he signs last they can spend within 8.5 of the cap and still pay him whatever amount
