Chicago made the right call in moving on from Rose, as a split was best for both parties, but Bulls management clearly stumbled by not having a workable backup plan in place. Asking Rondo to carry a weakened roster, mesh with Butler and see eye-to-eye with Hoiberg, whose easy-going personality came under scrutiny last year, is begging for disaster.

Rondo's had a worse defensive rating than Jose Calderon last yr

I think the FO agrees with your earlier sentiment of not being able to attract any high level FAs as a bottom feeder

We might still near the bottom of the EAST tbh - alot of teams should be much improved

Wizards, Magic, Bucks, Knicks should all theoretically pass us up, who knows how shyt plays out though

I still like the idea of going into next season with serious capspace and hopefully a top 6-7ish pick

We'll see what happens - definitely have an interesting team to watch this season

They should just dump Calderon/Dunleavy, then again thats two 40% type 3PT shooters, so I dunno, I just dont need them taking minutes from Grant & Denzel/Doug/Zipser

i just dont see the good outcome with tanking at this point. money is no longer leverage, and i dont see the duncan lebron etc coming out of college that is supposed to turn our franchise into elite. the losing then kills our leverage at negotiation tables next off season.

true we could still lose, but honestly that is on jimmy and hoiberg, who we turned this franchise over to. jimmy has to leap to a legit top 10 player, hoiberg has to implement some kind of offense and defensive identity. although signing rondo just made that much more difficult

but once durant falls, its still a few places to go for a good stop gap to gear up for next season, i would go hard after wade if he feels slighted by riley, if that is even true of course, but an ariza trade, or other guys with 1 year left on they deal would be good way to go forward.

our main goal should be getting blake griffen and jimmy butler as our 1 , 2 punch and we need to be doing everything we can to make that happen.

i think they can still make a play for wade, if wade is really available. its a chance no one really feels wade will leave, riley may fork over the money now that durant is off the table, but wade may feel slighted by how miami treated him and if wade goes elsewhere i will be pissed we didnt get him. wade helps us get blake griffin next season.

but we could dump dunleavy for a future pick to a playoff team looking for shooting, which is plenty of teams, we could stretch calderon and waive snell and we would have over the 20 mill to offer wade and he def would do a 2 year with a 1 year opt out. if it all works, you have good pieces to sell to blake, if it doesnt you still have a ton of cap space.

even if we dont get wade, i still think guys like calderon, dunleavy, snell possibly taj or niko need to get moved. i would just assume wade would want toplay with taj.

Season is going to be a disaster. I can smell the locker room ego clashes now. Why not spend real money on a real star? Has rondo ever proving himself or being effective season long (outside of boston that is). I can't wait for the fukkery, bulls backoffice is absolutely garbage.

because he is joining a 1st class organization that treats our players and coaches right and will work diligently to surround him with adequate pieces so he can compete for a championship!!!

yea i dont have the answer for that

but you can hope to get a westbrook, let him come to chicago maybe fall in love with the fan base, achieve a high seed in the east and make him a selling point for blake griffin next season. westbrook is good enough to take that shot on for a 1 year rental imo.
