No team sustains there offense if theyre No 1 guy is off...Only chance Bulls have at ECF is Demar and Lavine playing like stars against Bucks/Heat in the 2nd round...Vuc and Coby White wont sway anything,if they dont play great...
DeRozan isn't really the #1 guy IMO, it really is a 1a/1b situation. And you're tweaking if you really are dismissing Vucevic and White's impact on offense. The Bulls have a TEAM TEAM, which is why I'm saying even if a guy is having an off night, they have 3 guys who can isolate and get a basket from the perimeter. And they have a big that you can run offense through and who can score in the post... this isn't even talking about Lonzo and Caruso... and the rest of the bench who has been contributing all year thus far.

I definitely underestimated this team at the start of the year so I want to be careful not to overcorrect. And if the last couple of seasons showed us anything it’s that it’s hard to predict what will happen in these covid seasons/playoffs.

In a 7 game series I would favor Milwaukee and Brooklyn, assuming everyone is healthy. I see Miami as the third favorite to me, and Chicago right there. I hesitate because we have never seen Lavine or Lonzo, haven’t seen Vucevic past the first round, and Derozan has come up short before. On the other side, Derozan never played with someone who could equally take the scoring load and he won’t have to run into LeBron. And we don’t know how the Kyrie thing is gonna work in BKN. I could see Chicago in the finals even though I wouldn’t favor them. I don’t know what they can do with Giannis.

Hes the VP of Basketball OPs, hes the top decision maker, he hired Eversly as GM

Lawrence Frank just won the exec of the year award in the same position while having a GM under him

I dont even understand the logic, why WOULDNT it go to AK?

It actually doesn't make sense to me the way you talk about it, because when it was time to award the Spurs the executive of the year award, they didn't select the VP of basketball operations, they didn't select even the president of basketball operations, they selected RC Buford, who was the general manager. And then two years later when they were awarded the executive of the year award again, they gave it to RC Buford, again.

why do yal act like kd, harden, and kyrie arent a threat to score every single time down the court despite however good your defense is????
the nets with 1 legged harden and just kd was 1 inch from beating a better variation of this same bucks team last year.
yal worrying about the others...the others dont matter when you have 3 all nba performers 2 of which were mvps lmao
on top of that the nets actually are #7 in defensive rating so it aint like they are pushovers on that end either.
Yeah, but the Bulls are a great small ball team. Who has better perimeter defenders to throw at the Nets than Chicago?
:stopitslime:

Better yet, who else in the conference would make KD, Harden and Kyrie work more on defense than the guys Chicago can put on the floor?

theres still levels.
they still have the 3 best players on both teams when kyrie is playing.
it aint about making them work. no matter whats going on there will be a mismatch.
your best chance is that the bulls hold the 1 seed and the east cannibalizes itself giving a more clear path to the ECF

Right now the standings are say they would avoid Durant and Giannis until the ECF.

1. Chicago
2. Brooklyn
3. Milwaukee
4. Miami

Who would y'all take between a Chicago-Miami matchup?

Tough series for sure, and Miami has the advantage with Spo over Billy.

Bulls have more firepower IMO tho, so it would come down to their offense performing well enough to withstand potentially losing close games due to in-game adjustments

Thats also a part of this that you basketball experts in here keep forgetting. They are ALWAYS hurt
no they arent. kyrie had a freak ankle sprain when he landed on someones foot. and harden been an ironman his whole career until that hammy
kd bounced back from the achilles like its nothing
"dudes are always hurt" that would be like me saying that about lavines acl injury at this point
