I think that is the state music (at least black music) is in now. Back in the day, the struggle would be in the songs but now it is mostly about trying to make a hot song to get get the most plays

I don't know the totality of Afrobeats music (a genre of music from Nigeria and Ghana - 2 out of 52 African countries). But thankfully, there are other genres in African music than Afrobeats.
