Because those are aspects of his views that you made up. That's not his position.

sure he doesnt say it explicitly, that i know of, but there isnt any other conclusion to come to after listening to him

isnt his premise that the us is the main perpetrator of violence on planet earth? or did i miss something?

its nutty, even the evil of the USSR cannot be put on the leaders of the USSR, the evil of the USSR is actually a result of american imperialism, according to him, its a nutty analysis

well the problem he has already admitted to it and he even gave a reason for it according to the link in the post above
No he did not. You obviously have never read any of Chomsky's books and don't really know anything about him other than a few soundbites or short youtube clips. Obviously he focuses his attention on the evils committed by America, and he explained why in that link. He does not however, think America is some kind of peculiar or particular kind of evil and that the grass is greener on the other side like you said. He's never suggested such, and that's just some shyt you made up. He understands that evil is evil and it is present everywhere, but he takes the U. S. to task often for supporting and promoting evil in the form of material, financial, and political support of death squads, dictators, repressive regimes, terrorists, and he chronicles the atrocities of those people. In the 90's, he was bashing the Clinton administration for their nuclear arms sales to China because China is a brutal, oppressive regime, worse so than say Cuba who we still embargo, for example.

That's just false.

"the larger component of international violence" is what he said in the quote, and that's a fact.

Can you put that in context?

but his speeches very much suggests that even if he doesnt say it explicitly, ive never read his books so im just going by his speeches

there is nothing peculiar or particularly american about "death squads, dictators, repressive regimes, terrorists," nor is america the #1 perpetrator of those things, those things started 5000 years ago before america existed and will continue after america ceases to exist

the fact that he feels morally obligated to castigate the US does not make his analysis superior or correct, i wouldnt even dispute his castigation of the US as far as the facts are concerned but the overall analysis is flawed imo

No they don't. But thanks for admitting you never read his books.

He never said there is anything pecular or particularly American about any of that. You said that.

This overall analysis you're referring to seems to be a figment of your imagination.

does he say something different in his books than in his speeches

the implications of his speeches say that implicitly

and he already admitted that he focuses on the us because of some moral motivation

He doesn't say...

american imperialism is some kind of peculiar and particularly evil form of empire and not just an extension of normal human behavior and other empires going back 5000 years

and/or that there is some greener grass on the other side when in reality on the other side of american empire is communism and islamic theocracies

...in his books or his speeches. Only you said that.

Chomsky is good to be exposed to...before you move on from Chomsky.

I see his views as a stepping stone towards enlightenment.

I think Im better for knowing that he exists, but i think i'm beyond where he wants to go.

Yeah. But I think it's because I prefer problem-solvers and he's not that. But he's undeniably brilliant.
