I mean based on Spence's track record I wouldn't call him a gym hero

Stylistically Spence is the current welter with the best chance of beating Floyd, not Bud. Matter of fact, I believe it’s damn near documented at this point that Spence was giving Floyd work in sparring.
dont go by sparring though. especially since Floyd likely was not if full fighting condition. stylistically at 147 I take Bud to beat Floyd than Truth.
Nah for sure, sparring ain't the real thing. But still, Bud is a boxer and he's not gonna outbox Floyd over 12 imo. And if Mosley couldn't even drop him with his best shot, Bud ain't dropping Floyd. And he's not overwhelming him on volume. I got Floyd taking a clear decision.
Spence on the other hand is a bully in the ring and those are the only types to have any kind of real success against Floyd. Spence ain't as dirty and wild as Maidana, but he could pressure Floyd all night similar to how Cotto did, and more than likely do a way better job than Cotto too. I honestly think he could hurt Floyd too, it'd be a hell of a fight.
And Bud is my guy too but I'm just being real. Don't forget he was getting pieced up and rocked early by Gamboa, and was even down on the cards to Thomas Dulorme before landing the KO punch. He's nice but he still hasn't showed me he woulda been nice enough to beat Floyd. If he's very impressive against either Thurman or Spence though I might reconsider.
good analysis. everyone always brings up Gamboa but at lower weight Gamboa is fast as shyt with real amateur pedigree. much faster than Floyd at WW. now at 130, Floyd was a different animal. not that pot-shot artist he became at higher weights. Floyd was offensive machine. he was much more cautious at higher weights. dont forget, Chop Chop hurt Floyd BAD at 140, worse than Gamboa did Bud. if that was Bud that rocked him, he'd been done. Bud starts slow, sort of like Floyd because he likes to figure out what the opponent has.
Spence aggressive bullying style I feel plays right in to Floyd's style. Floyd likes that shyt. I dont think he likes fighting classic boxers or slicker fighters as much as he likes guys that come forward hard.
the interesting thing about Floyd, as great as he was even up to 40 years of age is that he was much better offensively each class you go down in weight. he was really defensive at 147 and didnt throw many punches at all. He was an exciting fighter at 140, even more at 135, even more at 130.

You got it reverse. He hates being stalked, loves pure boxers. He likes the chess match. A fight that makes him work more always takes him out of his comfort zone.good analysis. everyone always brings up Gamboa but at lower weight Gamboa is fast as shyt with real amateur pedigree. much faster than Floyd at WW. now at 130, Floyd was a different animal. not that pot-shot artist he became at higher weights. Hearns is top 20 of all time at worse. At 147, he damn near unbeatableThe way Hearns is being described in here, you'd think nikkas is talking about some random ass tall boxing nikka and not a top 50 all time great.![]()
LolWhy would u post this dumb shyt???
Look at when he fought Augustus. Midway through the fight he said "I don't know what to do". And even after he won the fight, he said "I never want to see him again".You got it reverse.
