Thank god he is recovering and okay. I hope the city changes their laws in regards to squatters. There is no way people should be able to squat on your property or home. Get them the fukk out!

In NY if you get mail at a place and been there for 30 days it's hard to get them out the property. Legally they live there and you have to go through the eviction process which can take months to even a year before the Marshall's come and get them out.
If they live there for 10 years without any legal action and permanently stay there then they own the property.

i understand squatters having certain rights within 30 days. but to have a law on the books where someone can outright OWN the property without being attached to the deed is something else

Street justice ain’t justice because even if you get violated, if the culprits don’t get caught…then you go violate who you claim were “the culprits” and do get caught, you’re going to jail champ, for a while probably.
