Can't get too attached to teenagers commitment levels. We want to get the best but at the same time, get kids who WANT to be at OSU and excel at the highest level.Raiola’s loss.
Exactly. We had Ewers until he left, and we’re just fine with Devin and McCord. I’ve been following this too long to get hung up on a HS junior decommitting to go play with his uncle and dad’s old team. But I do know I won’t be going on Eleven Warriors crooting threads until around signing day just knowing how those cacs overreact to everything. Hopefully we get Matayo and make Downs change his mind last minute. Can't get too attached to teenagers commitment levels. Raiola’s loss.
Oh my bad, I should have said the program is in flames for losing on a high school junior commit. How will we field a competent team in 2025 and 2026? I mean, Day struggles to develop a QB that’s at least somewhat decent.
On your mom ? Damn, I know that you have the be embarrassed to see the entire neighborhood in your spot going in and out .Looks like the train stopped.
Everything in sports (and life) is about momentum. When things go poorly, it isn't one thing, it is a series of things. Let's look at this what has transpired this season:
1. We started unspectacularly against ND and never really gained any momentum.
2. Our recruiting peaked in the summer and never really gained momentum in the fall.
3. We have failed to put an NIL plan in place to compete against teams that have been unofficially doing NIL for decades.
4. We have an arguably weak transfer portal approach that is almost passive
5. For the 2nd year in a row, we collapsed against our rival and looked weak doing it.
5. All of the above came to a head at the absolute worst time of the year.
I expect things to get worse before they get better. I believe we are going to have a tough day today. In the unlikely event that we battle Georgia to the wire or win in 10 days, that could change some things but what is likely to happen is that we lose by double digits. After the staff takes some time to regroup, we have to change at least 2 things above immediately. We must put in place an attractive NIL approach (without paying outrageous sums to these kids) and, more importantly, we have to have a much more aggressive portal strategy. We are going to be fine. We are still a great program. There will just be a few bumps.
That post is too dramatic and why I’ve stayed away from the message boards for the most part the last few weeks. shyts been insane on there. We’re in the playoffs. We’re third in average recruiting ranking this cycle. Every school outside of Alabama or Georgia would want a 20 player class with only one 3* signee. We lost Matayo/Keeley/Wilson to up front NIL offers. Gotta adapt to the game or we can’t beat Alabama or Georgia for those type of croots when they’re playing the game.Breh from another board spittin'.
These niccas gotta tighten up. Way too much money circulating to not have proper NIL plans in place. nikkas on Twitter begging fans for help when south schools already have subscription plans in place on top of that booster money.
You think we strike out on some of the dudes we've struck out on in years past? That post is too dramatic and why I’ve stayed away from the message boards for the most part the last few weeks. shyts been insane on there. Breh, there is always one or two 5 stars that changes their mind during signing day. This will not be the first or last time this shyt happens to the program. You think we strike out on some of the dudes we've struck out on in years past?
Maybe we missing out on a real DE dog of a gem. Or a DB who flips when that's a spot we've been struggling heavily with.
Train still rolling, don't get me wrong but that bytch starting to sputter a little like we need a tune up at least.
But yeah, win in the playoffs and all will settle.
