That's the unfiltered, non PR response. Now that people see which way the wind is blowing they have to put their outrage panties on. But the initial reaction tells the whole truth; Will had the support of the crowd. And even with the retroactive condemnations any support of Rock seems like a footnote. I think his peers are tired of his shtick. Well, the actors anyway.
