1. that was a defense mechanism…. Like people do that all the time at those events. Laugh, but really don’t think that shyt is funny. Hell even literally stated that in his award speech if you go back and listen.
2. It was a similar situation like when you out with someone and they fall busting they ass and you laugh. But when you take a closer look at them and see they really hurt. It’s not longer funny.

I think the Real World David and Tammi situation should’ve taught us just cuz someone laughs in a moment don’t really mean they think a situation is funny or in on the joke

Donnell Rawlings tells a great story about S3 of the Chappelle show. Charlie Murphy in front of a live stage was having problems reading the monitor. So Donnell said something kinda slick that clowned him and Charlie laughed (defense mechanism) but the moment the cameras stopped and they went backstage Charlie Murphy tried to whoop his ass and threatened him

I don’t know…. I’ve seen situations like that many times and that was usually the same outcome if not worst
